RTX 4060 Ti latest price, news and leaks
RTX 4060Ti 8GB is now available but the 16GB version will be available later in July.
According to the latest report by Videocardz, Nvidia is set to launch the RTX 4060 Ti 8GB graphics card on May 24th. The RTX 4060Ti 16GB will be announced on the same day but will be launched in the second half of July.
According to the leaker @MEGAsizeGPU, the RTX -60 class will be RTX 4060Ti 8GB, RTX 4060Ti 16GB and RTX 4060 8GB. All these three will be announced in May but only RTX 4060Ti 8GB will be released at the time.
A leaked embargo document reported by VideoCardz shows the release timeline for RTX 4060Ti and RTX 4060. According to the leak, the RTX 4060Ti launch process has already begun with influencer list seeding and shipping of the cards is supposed to be on May 5. However, the date for the announcement is listed as ‘End of May’.
According to a recent claim from MyDrivers and RedGamingTech, NVIDIA is considering pricing the RTX 4060 Ti at $399 (approx. ₹38,900) to appeal to PC gamers.
The NVIDIA RTX 4060 Ti has been visually confirmed as AD106-350 GPU, a scaled-down model with 4352 CUDA cores (the complete chip has 4608 cores) via a 128-bit memory bus, which is a clear drop from the RTX 3060 Ti’s 256-bit bus. It is also said to be limited to PCIe Gen4x8, which is common on low-end GPUs. This combined with a small memory bus, may have a negative impact on performance.
The latest leaks from the packaging template for RTX 4060Ti have surfaced but it doesn’t confirm any specifications. NVIDIA offers the box and logo design templates in advance to all board partners.
Various reports and @kopite7kimi have suggested that the performance of RTX 4060Ti will be similar to RTX 3070 which was priced at $499 at the launch (₹51,000).
RTX 4060 (Released)
NVIDIA will use the AD107-400-A1 GPU, the fully functional AD107 Ada die, for the GeForce RTX 4060. It is reported to have 3072 CUDA cores and 8 GB of GDDR6 memory with memory rates of 18 Gbps through a 128-bit bus interface. This gives the card 288 GB/s bandwidth while remaining within a 110W – 115W standard TDP. The GPU is also stated to have 24 MB of L2 cache.
Specs | RTX 4060 |
CUDA cores | 3072 |
Boost clock | 2.46 GHz |
Base clock | 1.83 GHz |
Memory size (VRAM) | 8 GB GDDR6 |
Memory width | 128-bit |
Memory clock | 2125 MHz |
Ray Tracing Core | 24 / 3rd generation |
Tensor cores | 96 |
PCIE | Gen 4 x8 |
L1 cache | 128 KB (per SM) |
L2 cache | 24 MB |
TGP | 115 W |
DLSS | DLSS 3 |
- Much better power efficiency
- AV1 support and dual NVENC
- Software tricks like DLSS3, frame generation
- Doesn’t beat the AMD 7600 at a much higher price
- PCIe 4.0 x8 lanes
- Expensive for a 1080p card
Brief Review
At the current price, there is no incentive to buy this card. There are far better options like RX 6700XT. It doesn’t even manage to beat RX 7600 in terms of value. In average 1080p gaming performance, it is just 15% faster than RTX 3060. It is still slower than RTX 3060Ti. Because of cut-down memory, it doesn’t scale well with higher resolutions.
RTX 4060 price, news and leaks
MSI displayed their upcoming RTX 4060 Gaming X graphics card at Computex 2023. Along with TorX Fan 5.0, the RTX 4060 Gaming X introduces an entirely new compact generation Gaming X Twin Frozr 9 cooling system. Given that the RTX 4060’s TGP is just 109 W, the cooler appears to be enough for the task. The company’s cost-effective RTX 4060 custom design, the RTX 4060 Ventus 2X, appears to use an aluminium monoblock heatsink and two TorX 4.0 fans to ventilate the card’s cooler.
RTX 4060 was announced alongside RTX 4060Ti 8GB and 16GB and is supposed to be available in July. The exact date is unknown.
According to the latest report by Videocardz, Nvidia is set to announce the RTX 4060 graphics card on May 24th. It will be launched in the first half of July.
RTX 4060 is expected to be announced in May and will be available in July. The images for the RTX 4060 Founder’s Edition card have been leaked.
Gigabyte leaks RTX 4060 models by including the unannounced card in their Gigabyte Control Center software.
According to the @kopite7kimi, the RTX 4060 would have 8GB GDDR6 memory spread across a 128-bit memory bus. This means that the RTX 4060 Ti and RTX 4060 have the same 288 GB/s memory bandwidth. The desktop version would employ the same AD107 GPU as the mobile version, with a total of 3072 CUDA cores.
RTX 4050 (Not Released)
Very little is known about this GPU. Given that, RTX 3050 launched much later compared to its other brothers, the RTX 4050 has come under the rumour radar very recently. There aren’t a lot of details available apart from the fact that it will be based on AD107 GPU and that it is expected to launch after RTX 4060, most probably in Q3 2023.
