RTX 4060Ti to get a price slash, will be same as RTX 3060Ti at $399

The release of RTX 4070 didn’t excite anyone mostly because of its price. At ₹62,00 ($599) at launch, it recorded the lowest sales of any RTX 40 series cards. According to a recent claim from MyDrivers and RedGamingTech, NVIDIA is considering pricing the RTX 4060 Ti at $399 to appeal to PC gamers.

RTX 4070 has already come down below MSRP in US, UK and Indian markets with reports of it being discontinued in the UK and Nvidia slowing down the production. It’s no wonder that gamers are not ready to buy a mid-range for such an inflated price. This is not the case with just Nvidia; AMD’s flagship is also priced at an insane $1000-mark, although much cheaper than Nvidia’s flagship.

Earlier reports suggested that the RTX 4060Ti would be priced at $499 but looking at the RTX 4070’s sales, Nvidia is finally understanding that no one is ready to pay such a high price for entry to mid-range cards, regardless of its performance.

This would imply that the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti would have the same MSRP as the RTX 3060 Ti from the prior generation. That would be an unprecedented move by NVIDIA regarding new GeForce RTX 40 series releases, all of which have experienced price rises over the 30 Series.

Each card in the lineup, from the GeForce RTX 4090 to the recently introduced RTX 4070, has launched at a higher price point than the preceding generation.

  • RTX 3090 (MSRP $1499) – RTX 4090 (MSRP $1599), rise of 6.7%.
  • RTX 3080 (MSRP $699) – RTX 4080 (MSRP $1199), rise of 71.5%.
  • RTX 3070 Ti (MSRP $599) – RTX 4070 Ti (MSRP $799), a rise of 33.4%.
  • RX 3070 (MSRP $499) – RTX 4070 (MSRP $599), a rise of 20%.

Of course, various factors influence GPU pricing, including inflation, the GPU mining boom and fall, performance, and new hardware features. The price hikes for the RTX 40 Series have been all over the place and based on other 40 series GPUs, seeing the RTX 4060 Ti launch with a $499 price tag – a 25% increase over the previous generation – will definitely tank its sale.

RTX 4060Ti is slated to come out at the end of May which is not too far.
