The best RTX 30 Series Laptops in the market right now (October 2021)

RTX cards are dominating the market right now. With respect to price to performance ratio, RTX cards are worth your money and the benefits that come with RTX cards are not less.

The Ray tracing feature is the main highlight of RTX cards. Although not many games have the support for Ray tracing feature, more and more games will have it in the future. Ray tracing is extremely demanding and you need an equally powerful graphic card to run it and these cards are really powerful.

RTX cards have another trick up their sleeve. DLSS.

DLSS is a feature that instantly improves FPS on your games without compromising on the quality. Again, not all games support DLSS but more and more games are getting the support for DLSS.

With the GPU shortages, it is extremely hard to get a 30 series GPU right now if you are a gamer and want to build your own custom PC.

If you are someone who games on the go or doesn’t have the budget to buy these cards at stupidly high prices you can check these RTX laptops for gaming.

If you are considering getting a gaming laptop, here is a list of the best RTX 30 series laptops on the market right now.

The Best RTX 3050 laptops

RTX 3050 is the weakest member in the RTX 30 series family but it is perfect for people who are looking for budget gaming and want to get an RTX series card. RTX 3050 is by no means a weak card but it is designed to be an entry-level gaming card.

RTX 3050 is a laptop GPU with 80W TDP and 4 GB VRAM.

Note: RTX  3050 Ti only offers up to a 5% performance boost compared to the RTX 3050. It’s not worth getting an RTX 3050Ti for a higher price.

MSI GF63 Thin i5-10500H, RTX 3050 (10UC-607IN)

The cheapest RTX 3050 laptop on the market right now. This laptop features an Intel Core i5 – 10500H which is a 6-core processor. The base clock is 2.5GHz and the boost clock is 4.2GHz.

Although the max TDP doesn’t reach 80W at such a low price you can get a laptop that will support DLSS in newer titles. With 8 GB DDR4 RAM and 512 GB SSD storage, this laptop is a great value for money if you can leave some performance on the table.

Please note that you can overclock your GPU to reach higher TDP and clock speed if you are comfortable overclocking your laptop. Default max TDP – 40W.

The display on this laptop comes with a 15.6 inches and 144 Hz refresh rate. The colour gamut is 45% NTSC. (Colour gamut = how accurate the colours are)

Available on Flipkart exclusively, you can get it at ₹62990. If you use a credit card from Axis Bank or ICICI Bank you can get the laptop for an even lesser price. If you are buying a laptop for some casual gaming or even getting into e-sports titles, but have a tight budget, you can get this laptop.

The best RTX 3060 laptops

RTX 3060 is quite a powerful GPU that can run almost any AAA title at the highest settings easily. You can also take advantage of Ray Tracing on supported titles but you will be limited in its use since it is not that powerful compared to RTX 3070 or RTX 3080.

RTX 3060 laptops are the sweet spot because it is not entry-level like RTX 3050 and doesn’t cost a lot like laptops with RTX 3070 or 3080. And this is the only GPU in RTX 30 series which comes closest to the RTX 3060 desktop performance (compared to others).

To put it into numbers RTX 3060 is around 30% faster than the RTX 3060. When it comes to high-performance GPUs, many laptop manufacturers drop the total power consumption of the GPU to increase battery life and reduce cost.

The TGP (power consumption) required by a laptop RTX 3060 GPU is 115W.

Here are a few laptops which are worth your money if you are planning to buy an RTX 3060 laptop.

MSI GF63 Thin i5 10500H, RTX 3060 (10UE-290IN)

This is the cheapest RTX 3060 laptop available in India. It features an Intel i5-10500H processor which is the exact same as the one used in RTX 3050 laptop.

It has 16GB of DDR4 RAM (3200 MHz) which is expandable to 32 GB. It offers 512GB SSD storage which is expandable to 2TB of SSD.

Since the cost of the laptop is low there are some trade-offs. As mentioned earlier, manufacturers reduce the max TGP to reduce the cost of the laptop.

The TGP for this particular laptop is 75W which is 40W less than the ideal power required by RTX 3060. Reducing the TGP reduces the max/boost clock speed the GPU can run at. This drops the performance by a little.

If you are a casual gamer you need not worry too much about it since, in real-life scenarios, you might not notice it.

With a standard backlit keyboard and 1920×1080 resolution display (144 Hz) you can game on this comfortably. Note that the keyboard doesn’t have the number keys and the overall keyboard is compact.

If you are looking for running any AAA title comfortably while wanting to stay under budget, you can go with this laptop. You can avail more discounts on this laptop with coupons and bank offers. You can get this laptop on Flipkart at ₹86990.

MSI GF65 Thin 10UE-290IN budget

Key Specs

Processor: Intel Core i5 10500H, 6 core 12 thread,
2.5 GHz base clock, 4.5 GHz boost clock
GPU: RTX 3060, 75W TDP
RAM: 8GB DDR4 (3200 MHz), expandable to 32 GB
Storage: 512 GB NVMe SSD, expandable to 2 TB NVMe SSD.
Display: 15.6 inches, 1920*1080, 144Hz, 45% NTSC

Acer Nitro 5 Ryzen 5 5600 RTX 3060 (AN515-45-R3TC)

This is probably the best overall RTX 3060 laptop in India as of now. It is priced really well for the features it provides. Again, since the price is low, the overall performance of this laptop is somewhat less than more premium-priced laptops.

This laptop features a solid Ryzen 5 5600H processor which fits perfectly with the RTX 3060 laptop GPU. Ryzen 5 5600H is a 6 core, 12 threads processor with a base clock of 3.3GHz and boost clock of 4.2 GHz.

GPU runs at a max TDP of 95W which is okay for this price point and compromises on performance a little bit.

There is another small problem with this laptop which is in RAM and storage. This laptop comes with 16 GB  DDR4 RAM (3200 MHz) but in a single channel. (Single channel = RAM only occupied in one slot).

Dual-channel RAM configuration is always better since it increases your performance and reduces the FPS drops which might happen due to single-channel configuration or less RAM.

The SSD storage is just 256 GB which feels unfair at this price point and instead of 1TB SSD, 512 GB of SSD would have been better. Again, many people would prefer having slower but larger storage. If you want, you can always upgrade your storage.

The display is a standard 1920×1080 resolution, 72% NTSC, 144Hz refresh rate display just like every other laptop in here.

There is another variant with a Ryzen 7 4800H processor and it is around 10% faster than the Ryzen 5 5600H processor although for about ₹8000 more.

You can instead get another 16GB RAM and extra storage (if you want) instead of getting the Ryzen 7 4800H version since it doesn’t give you anything far superior.

Processor: Ryzen 5 5600H, 6 core 12 thread,
3.3 GHz base clock, 4.5 GHz boost clock
GPU: RTX 3060, 95W TDP

Storage: 256 GB NVMe SSD + 1 TB HDD, expandable to 2 TB NVMe SSD.
Display: 15.6 inches, 1920*1080, 144Hz, 45% NTSC

Other Variant: Acer Nitro 5 Ryzen 7 5800H, RTX 3060 (AN515-45)

Acer Predator Helios 300 Core i7 10870H, RTX 3060 (PH315-53)

This is the best overall laptop with respect to the price-to-performance ratio. Featuring an Intel core i7-10870H processor. It’s an 8-core processor with a base clock of 2.2 GHz and a boost clock of 5.5 GHz.

The topmost performance laptops with RTX 3060 laptop, TDP of 130W is a common factor and this one has a 105W TDP which isn’t a big compromise.

The best thing about this laptop is 1TB SSD storage right off the box which you can expand up to 2TB of SSD.

The RAM you get is 16 GB in a single-channel configuration. The RAM speed is 2933 MHz which is a bit low but it won’t matter much with an Intel processor. You can add one more 16GB RAM to improve your performance by around 10-15%.

Again, there is nothing special about the display. It has the same display specs as all the other laptops listed here. 1920×1080 resolution, 72%NTSC and 144 Hz refresh rate display.

The thermals on this laptop are good but if you want to be on the safer side, you can always get a cooling pad. But, your laptop won’t throttle under load.

You can absolutely get this laptop if you are looking for raw performance from your RTX 3060. There are 2 other laptops which will perform better than this but they are priced so high, it doesn’t feel worth it.

You can find this laptop for about ₹119990 on Flipkart and you can avail yourself of more discounts if you use credit cards or any of their partner banks. Check the page for more details.

The best RTX 3070 laptops

RTX 3070 laptop GPU is roughly 15 to 18% faster than the RTX 3060 laptop GPU. There aren’t many laptops available in India with this GPU although are some good options for you to consider.

RTX 3070 performs at full potential with a TDP of 115W. The TDP can vary from 85W to 130W depending on the manufacturer and cost. The TDP of the laptop will affect the clock speed GPU can attain and in turn reduces the performance of the GPU by a little.

This is done to reduce the overall cost of the laptop since higher power leads to more heat and more heat will need good thermals and build quality.

RTX 3070 laptop GPU has a VRAM of 8GB which is more than enough for any games you will play on this laptop. Having a decent laptop with RTX 3070 will guarantee you the best experience playing any AAA titles at the highest settings.

You can also enjoy Ray Tracing in supported titles and take advantage of the DLSS in the supported titles.

Here are the best laptops with RTX 3070 in the market right now.

Asus TUF F15 i7 11370H RTX 3070 (FX516PM-AZ153TS)

This is hands-down the best budget RTX 3070 laptop. It features a 4 core 8 threads, Intel i7-11370H processor which is quite underwhelming for a laptop in this price range. Although not a weak processor, it is weaker in comparison to Ryzen 7 5800H in Acer Nitro 5.

It comes with 16GB RAM in dual channel configuration which is a great advantage since dual channel always gives you increased performance compared to single-channel.

You get storage of 1TB SSD which is always a good thing. You can expand it up to 2 TB.

Since it’s a budget offering, the TDP of the GPU is just 80W+5W of boost which will reduce the overall performance by little compared to a laptop with more than 100W TDP.

The one thing which stands out in this laptop is its display. It features a 15.6 inches, 19200×1080 display with a peak brightness of 300 nits and 100% sRGB (more immersive colours and accuracy)

If you are looking to specifically buy an RTX 3070 laptop on a budget, you can definitely go with this. Although, buying a high-end RTX 3060 laptop at the same price is better than buying a low powered RTX 3070 laptop.

The performance difference between RTX 3060 and RTX 3070 is less than 20% so it’s better to get a high-powered RTX 3060 laptop than a low powered RTX 3070.

This laptop is available on Amazon for 119900 under sale and you can avail more discount if you use coupons and bank offers.

Note: Some might feel that Acer Nitro 5 Ryzen 9 5900HX might be a better one because of a much powerful processor, in reality, Asus TUF is an overall better laptop because of its build quality, dual-channel configuration. Even though the processor is weaker in Asus TUF, it will bottleneck your GPU. Performance on both the laptops is very similar.

This is a bang for buck RTX 3070 laptop with a powerful i7-11800H processor. It’s an 8 core processor with a base clock of 2.3 GHz and a boost clock of 4.2 GHz.

This laptop is an absolute value laptop because of its powerful processor, high power GPU and display.

The TDP for this GPU is 130W which means it can reach a higher clock speed and as a result, there is no compromise in the performance of this beast GPU.

The display on this laptop is an FHD, 100% sRGB and 240Hz refresh rate. Rest assured you will be able to enjoy the full extent of any game you play on this laptop.

With 16 GB  RAM on a single-channel configuration, you can upgrade this one up to 64 GB. You get a nice 1 TB SSD which is again upgradable to 2TB with an additional slot given.

With this being a high powered GPU, you can expect some serious performance out of this laptop and this will run any new titles you throw at it. You can also take advantage of Ray Tracing and DLSS on supported titles.

The only problem is you don’t get a USB C port. It’s not an issue at all if you are gaming or don’t care about USB C. If for some reason you want a USB C port, you can look at other RTX 3070 laptops.

If you are looking for a proper gaming machine with a performance that is compromised for the price, you can get this. This is available on Flipkart at the price of 179990. You can avail more discounts if you use bank offers available on Flipkart.

The best RTX 3080 laptops

RTX 3080 is the most powerful laptop GPU by Nvidia and there aren’t many options for you are in India. There is no budget offering in this series and all laptops are high-end gaming laptops.

RTX 3080 is around 12% faster than the RTX 3070 which isn’t a lot. It has 8 GB of VRAM and performs the best at TDP of a minimum of 115W.

It might not be worth getting an RTX 3080 laptop for almost at 1 lac more than compared to RTX 3070 laptops.

But nonetheless, these are absolutely top-of-the-line gaming laptops and here is the best pick out of 3 laptops which is available in the Indian market right now.

Asus ROG Strix Scar 15 Ryzen 9 5900HX, RTX 3080 (G533QS-HQ236TS)

This laptop rocks a Ryzen 9 5900HX processor which is the fastest processor in the market right now. It’s an 8 core processor with a base clock of 3.3 GHz and a boost clock of 4.6GHz.

With the GPU TDP of 130W, it leaves no performance unused. It can basically run any modern titles without breaking a sweat.

It rocks 32 GB of RAM in dual channel mode and also gets 2 TB of SSD storage. This is more than enough to store and handle any games.

This one has a 15.6 inches WQHD (2560×1440) and a 165 Hz refresh rate display.

In terms of raw performance, it just falls a little behind MSI GE76 i7-11800H because of its power-hungry 155W TDP. Apart from that, it offers almost the same things. Although the MSI has an i7-11800H which is a little slower than the Ryzen 9 in Asus ROG Strix.

In terms of overall value, Asus ROG Strix Scar stands on top in India at least. If you are looking for the best and most powerful laptop in the Indian market right now you can choose this laptop.

The difference between all the RTX 30 families is not linear. RTX 3060 is much more powerful than RTX 3050. But, there isn’t much increase in performance in RTX 3080 compared to RTX 3070.

If you are into hardcore gaming, it’s always better to build your own PC if you are interested in that. Although, as of now the situation is not ideal for that.

Here’s my own personal example. I have a custom-built PC with Ryzen 5 3600 but I don’t have a good GPU because of super high prices and non-availability. I also wanted portability and an extra helping hand for work.

I decided to buy an entry-level RTX laptop so that I can play newer titles until I can get an RTX 3060 Ti for my PC.

Here’s a table that might help you choose which RTX you should go with.

ScenarioRTX family to choose
Portability and Casual GamingRTX 3060 laptop
On a budget but want to play newer titlesRTX 3050 laptop
Want to hold on until GPU prices are normalRTX 3050 laptop

RTX 3060 laptops are the overall value laptop which will give you performance and cost you a fortune if you decide to buy it. Although it will not run 4k ultra settings in all the games, you can expect a solid performance in every game at 1080p.
