Not much is known apart from a few key internal specifications based on earlier reports and leaks.

Expected specs of the Jiobook

According to previous reports, Jiobook will apparently come with 4G LTE connectivity with an HD (1366X768 pixels) display powered by a Snapdragon processor.

Jiobook will run on a custom Android OS called JioOS and is likely to feature a 4GB LPDDR4x RAM and up to 64 GB eMMc storage. Reports have also suggested that another model can come with 2GB LPDDR4x RAM and 32 Gb eMMc storage.

As for connectivity, Jiobook apparently will feature mini-HDMI, dual-band WiFi and Bluetooth. Reports have also suggested it might come with a 3-axis accelerometer and Qualcomm audio chip.

Looking at these internal specs, it is clear that Jiobook will be targeted towards the budget segment. If the reports are true, the company has partnered with China’s Bluebank Communication Technology for the laptop.

Jiobook is also said to come preloaded with apps like JioStore, JioMeet, and JioPages also with Microsoft applications Teams, Edge and Microsoft Office.

When will Jiobook be available and what will be its price?

Considering Jiobook was spotted on the BIS website, it will be officially announced soon, probably during Diwali. Jiobook had started its production in September 2020 and can be expected to be available in the market in the first quarter of 2022.

As for the pricing, there is no information available. It will most probably be priced under Rs. 30000 in the budget segment.

The main competition for Jiobook in the current market would be iBall’s Compbook. It remains to be seen how Jiobook will fare against Compbook.
