One series of smartphones that can boast of the highest-selling numbers in India year after year is the Redmi Note series. The note series started as an idea of a device larger than a phone but smaller than a tablet, a concept borrowed from the likes of Samsung. Since then it has been the best seller and rightly so. And this amount of success also breeds anticipation.
So today let’s look at the upcoming member of the Note 11 series. The teaser of the phone was shared by Redmi India social media handle as well as by Xiaomi India chief Manu Kumar Jain. The handset has been in the news lately and spotted on various certification websites.
A handset with model number 220111TSI, tipped to be the Redmi Note 11S, has been spotted on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification website before, hinting at an India launch. Similarly, a smartphone with the model number 2201117SG along with the name Redmi Note 11S has been spotted on the NTBC certification authority website. Some phones with similar model numbers also made it to the EEC certification website.
The teaser says a new Note 1S is coming while the tweet itself reads – Are you XcIted for a NOTE-able step up? With the use of “1S” instead of “IS”, the company appears to be teasing the Redmi Note 11S.
Various sources last month indicated that the Redmi Note 11S will come equipped with a
108-megapixel Samsung HM2 camera or a 64-megapixel OmniVision OV6480 as the
primary camera, depending on the market. It is claimed to sport an 8-megapixel Sony
IMX355 ultra-wide camera, and a 2-megapixel OV02A macro camera. The phone may be powered by MediaTek SoC.
The Redmi Note 11 series was launched in China last year and included three smartphones. Redmi Note 11, Note 11 Pro, and Note 11 Pro+. Redmi India has already launched the Note 11T 5G in the country as the first Redmi Note 11 series phone. It was a rebranded variant of the Note 11.
Though it’s still not clear about the device’s name and specifications as the company only launched and teaser. So let’s see what’s cooking in the minds of Redmi executives and will this phone be able to maintain the long reign of the Note series as the bestseller.
