AMD Radeon RX 7900 GRE unveiled by XFX, Sapphire and PowerColor

The AMD Radeon RX 7900 GRE 16 GB GPU has been released by AIBs such as XFX, PowerColor, and Sapphire. The GPU is based on the Navi 31 XL design and features 84 RDNA 3 compute units. It has a boost clock speed of up to 2395 MHz and requires dual 8-pin connectors to power.

The GPU is available in three custom designs from the AIBs, as well as a reference model from XFX. The custom models cost 5499 RMB (~$770) or 5299 RMB (~$740), while the reference model costs 5299 RMB (~$740). The GPU is currently only available in China, but select system integrators will be selling PCs equipped with the GPU worldwide.

The Sapphire Radeon RX 7900 GRE Nitro+ OC features a triple-slot and triple-fan design. It has a slightly smaller Navi 31 GPU package than the other two RDNA 3 offerings, requiring dual 8-pin connectors to boot. The clock speeds are a +150 MHz bump over the stock speeds (2395 MHz vs 2245 MHz). The cooling solution also drops the use of a vapor chamber heat sink and goes with a standard aluminum-finned design with 5 copper heat pipes.

The PowerColor RX 7900 GRE Red Devil variant has a similar design scheme to the RX 7900 XT & XTX, but it is a thinner model with a 2.5-slot design. The GPU comes with a triple-fan cooling system with three 10cm fans attached to seven heat pipes.

The PowerColor Radeon RX 7900 GRE Red Devil also features a custom PCB design that comes with a dual-BIOS switch that lets you select between the 2395 MHz (OC) and the 2345 MHz (Silent) profile. The card can sip up to 800 Watts of power with the OC BIOS.

The XFX Radeon RX 7900 GRE MBA (Made by AMD) is the reference model of the GPU. It has a similar design to the Radeon RX 7000 series, and it features a dual 8-pin configuration with the usual black color scheme. The custom models cost 5499 RMB (~$770) while the reference variant costs 5299 RMB (~$740). For the North American markets, the same graphics card will be priced at $649 US which means a $100 US difference between Chinese and US markets.

The AMD Radeon RX 7900 GRE 16 GB GPU is currently only available in China but is expected to be released in other regions soon. However, system integrators in other regions are offering RX 7900 GRE in pre-built PCs. As of now, no Indian system integrator has unveiled any pre-built PCs with RX 7900 GRE.
