Every year, Xbox Games Showcase presents the upcoming games from its own studios and partner studios. Following the Summer Game Fest and PlayStation’s State of Play, we have some great announcements from the Xbox Games Showcase 2024.

Call of Duty Black Ops 6
The latest trailer for “Call of Duty Black Ops 6” dives into its early 1990s setting, picking up from Black Ops Cold War and reflecting back on Black Ops 2. Developed by Treyarch and Raven Software, it promises a gripping campaign, 16 multiplayer maps at launch, and an exciting new zombie mode. The narrative aims to blend intense action with intricate storylines, maintaining the series’ hallmark of engaging gameplay and historical contexts.
Doom: The Dark Ages
“Doom: The Dark Ages” transports players to a medieval setting, a stark departure from its usual futuristic landscapes. Scheduled for a 2025 release, the game promises to meld the iconic fast-paced combat of Doom with an intriguing, ancient world filled with mythical creatures and historical intrigue, offering fans a unique twist on the beloved franchise.
State of Decay 3
The trailer for “State of Decay 3” offers a thrilling, cinematic glimpse into a world where the zombie threat has escalated significantly. Players must navigate survival challenges while building and maintaining their community. With no release date yet, anticipation builds around how it will innovate the survival genre with enhanced mechanics and deeper narratives.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard
“Dragon Age: The Veilguard” introduces new companions and rich storytelling. Characters like Harding the Scout and Neve the Detective promise to enrich the game’s narrative depth. Bioware aims to deliver another epic fantasy adventure, combining intricate plots with robust character development and strategic gameplay.
Starfield: The Shattered Space
Bethesda’s “Starfield: The Shattered Space” expansion unveils a powerful new force in Dazra. This add-on invites players to explore new cosmic threats, acquire cutting-edge gear, and delve into unique storylines, promising to expand the Starfield universe with more depth and excitement.
Fallout 76: Skyline Valley
“Fallout 76: Skyline Valley” introduces a new region in Appalachia, launching on June 12. The area is marked by a mysterious electric storm and hidden secrets of Vault 63, and players can now experience the game as a Ghoul, adding a fresh perspective to the post-apocalyptic survival experience.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
In “Clair Obscur: Expedition 33,” players lead an expedition to defeat the antagonist known as the Paintress. This RPG, developed by Sandfall Interactive, features a party-based, turn-based combat system, enhancing the strategic depth of the gameplay. The game is expected to launch in 2025.
South of Midnight
“South of Midnight” takes players to the folktale-inspired town of Prospero. As Hazel, players will navigate a Southern Gothic world filled with fantasy elements. Set for a 2025 release on Xbox and PC, it promises a unique blend of story and atmosphere.
World of Warcraft: The War Within
The “World of Warcraft: The War Within” expansion is slated for release on August 25, 2024. It aims to bring new adventures, regions, and challenges to the iconic MMORPG, continuing to expand its vast and immersive world.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater
Konami’s “Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater” remake highlights enhanced graphics and 3D audio. The classic story remains intact, but gameplay improvements will focus on survival and stealth, ensuring both new and returning players experience the game in a fresh, engaging way.
Sea of Thieves Season 13
Launching on July 25, “Sea of Thieves Season 13” introduces a new world event centered around Flameheart’s Burning Blade. This season promises to add more excitement and challenges to the pirate adventure, keeping the game’s community engaged with fresh content.
Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn
“Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn,” reminiscent of Bloodborne, mixes gunplay, melee combat, and magic in an action-adventure format. Releasing on July 18, it will be available on Game Pass from day one, offering players an immersive, combat-rich experience.

Age of Mythology Retold
“Age of Mythology: Retold” modernizes the classic real-time strategy game with updated visuals and design. Releasing on September 4 for Xbox Series S|X and PC, it aims to captivate both old fans and new players with its blend of mythology and strategy.
Perfect Dark
The “Perfect Dark” gameplay trailer showcases Agent Dark’s prowess but leaves the release date unspecified. It promises to bring intense, spy-themed action to Xbox Game Pass from day one, adding another highly anticipated title to the service.
Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred
“Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred” expansion takes players into the dense jungles of Nahantu. Launching on October 8, it will offer new challenges and lore, expanding the dark, immersive world of Diablo 4 with fresh content and intense gameplay.
Fable
The new “Fable” trailer features the retired hero, Humphry, offering survival advice in a magical world. Set for a 2025 release, it will be available on Xbox Game Pass, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, promising a whimsical yet epic adventure.
Fragpunk
“Fragpunk” is a 5v5 hero shooter with a distinctive gameplay modifier card system. Developed by Bad Guitar, it is set to launch in 2025 for Xbox Series X|S and PC, aiming to bring a fresh competitive experience to the shooter genre.
Winter Burrow
In “Winter Burrow,” players control a mouse tasked with transforming a dilapidated childhood home into a cozy refuge. This charming game, releasing in early 2025 for Xbox and PC, promises a heartwarming and unique gameplay experience.
Mixtape
“Mixtape” follows three friends on a nostalgic, music-infused adventure. Featuring tracks from iconic bands and developed by Beethoven & Dinosaur, it is set for a 2025 release, blending emotional storytelling with a rich musical backdrop.
Elder Scrolls Online Gold Road
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024
“Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024” continues to deliver highly detailed aircraft and world settings. Releasing on November 19 and available on Game Pass, it promises to enhance the flight simulation experience with even more realism and detail.
Life is Strange Double Exposure
“Life is Strange: Double Exposure” returns with Max Caulfield, now using new timeline-shifting powers to solve her friend’s murder. The first two chapters are set to release on October 15, offering a blend of mystery and emotional storytelling.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle
“Indiana Jones and the Great Circle” promises a rich, story-driven adventure filled with action. The trailer showcases iconic elements of the franchise, though the release date remains unspecified for 2024.
Mecha Break
“Mecha Break” is a multiplayer mecha shooter featuring customizable mechs. With a closed beta set for August, players can look forward to intense, mech-based combat before its official launch.
Wuchang Fallen Feathers
“Wuchang Fallen Feathers” is a Chinese action RPG set in the late Ming dynasty. Players will navigate a world teeming with threats, blending historical elements with action. It will be available on Game Pass from day one, enhancing its accessibility.
Avowed
“Avowed,” developed by Obsidian, showcases colorful landscapes and magical combat. Set to release in 2024 for Xbox Game Pass, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, it promises an expansive RPG experience with deep lore and engaging gameplay.
Atomfall
“Atomfall” sets players in a post-nuclear disaster Britain, combining survival action with Cold War paranoia. Scheduled for release in 2025, it aims to deliver a gripping narrative and challenging gameplay.
STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl
“STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl” presents haunting in-game footage of the Exclusion Zone. Releasing on September 5 for Xbox Series S|X, PC, and Game Pass, it promises an immersive, atmospheric experience.
Assassins Creed Shadows
“Assassin’s Creed Shadows” provides an in-depth look at combat for its dual protagonists. While further details are pending, it promises to continue the franchise’s tradition of intricate storylines and engaging gameplay.
Gears of War: E-Day
“Gears of War: E-Day” is a prequel focusing on a young Marcus Fenix during the emergence of the Locust Horde. Available on Game Pass from day one, it explores the origins of the conflict and promises intense, action-packed gameplay.
Xbox Expands its Lineup with All-Digital Model and Special Edition Consoles
Microsoft also announced three new Xbox consoles with ‘All-Digital’ models. The new Xbox Series X All-Digital will debut in a sleek Robot White color, featuring a spacious 1 TB SSD.
A special edition console in Galaxy Black with an upgraded 2 TB SSD and the Xbox Series S model in Robot White with a 1 TB SSD was also announced.
