Twitter now includes cryptocurrency and stock prices in search results.

Twitter’s search results now include cryptocurrency values thanks to a plug-in from the charting platform TradingView. Users can enter cryptocurrency or stock tickers into the search field to get the current value and a price chart.

Elon Musk, the CEO of Twitter, announced a new Twitter feature on Tuesday, particularly for investors, traders, financial professionals, and organizations. Users may look for the price of Bitcoin (BTC) and Ether (ETH) using the new cryptocurrency tool by simply typing their names or tickers into the search bar. Within a tweet, users can access graphs and data for significant equities, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), and cryptocurrencies.

Twitter searches for “$Bitcoin,” “Bitcoin price,” and “BTC price” bring up a price chart with equivalents.  The new crypto tool allows users to check the price of Bitcoin (BTC) and Ether (ETH) simply by putting their names or tickers into the search tab. The new feature is an enhancement to “$Cashtags” and was revealed on December 21 by the Twitter Business account.

The account stated that whenever someone tweets the symbol of a major stock, exchange-traded fund, or cryptocurrency with $ in front of it, people will be able to see a clickable link that takes them to search results that now include pricing graphs for those symbols.

Twitter’s new feature provides its users with trading data from the Crypto market by collaborating with the Market Tracking, TradingView platform. The tool can be used to produce charts, customize technical indicators, and analyze financial instruments. Furthermore, the charts feature a link to “View on Robinhood” in the lower left-hand corner.

When you click the “View on Robinhood” link, you’ll be sent directly to their ETH or Bitcoin price charts, with the option to “Sign Up to Buy Ethereum” or Bitcoin underneath. Twitter and Robinhood have not acknowledged any official collaboration.

Robinhood is a low-cost online brokerage that offers a commission-free investment and trading platform. This graphic indicates that the retail trading platform worked with Twitter on this collaboration. Twitter was said to be considering creating a native cryptocurrency to be used for platform payments.
