WhatsApp has rolled out a new feature that allows users to link their account to multiple phones, making messaging much easier. Users can now link up to four additional devices, in addition to web browsers, tablets and desktops, ensuring personal messages, media, and calls are end-to-end encrypted.
The update means users can switch between phones without signing out, and pick up their chats where they left off. Making it easier for small business owners to respond to customers directly from their phones under the same WhatsApp Business account.
WhatsApp has lately been focusing on adding features which help in productivity of busy individuals. Like WhatsApp, recently also added features like better self messaging.
It is also testing out a feature that lets users send full resolution images without any compression.
Coming back, this new feature of same WhatsApp account on multiple devices has already begun rolling out globally and will be available to everyone in the coming weeks.
Additionally, an alternative and more accessible way to link to companion devices will soon be introduced. Users will be able to enter their phone number on WhatsApp Web to receive a one-time code, which they can use on their phone to enable device linking, rather than having to scan a QR code.
This latest update follows last year’s introduction of the ability for users to message seamlessly across all their devices while maintaining the same level of privacy and security, making WhatsApp more versatile and user-friendly than ever before.
This feature will be available on both WhatsApp for iOS and Android.
