The next flagship phone from Poco has been announced at a global launch event. The POCO F4 GT is targeted as a gaming phone and powered by the current most powerful mobile processor, Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.

Compared to the Poco F3 GT, the F4 GT has gained some upgrades but seems to remain the same in many of the departments like camera, design and display.

Starting off with the processor and GPU, the Poco F4 GT is powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 coupled with Qualcomm Adreno GPU. The predecessor, F3 GT was powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1200.

The phone will have 6 GB and 8 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and a storage of 128 GB and 256 GB in two variants.

To address the cooling, the new Poco F4 GT will use LiquidCool Technology 3.0 to keep the phone cool under load. It covers the major hotspots like the SoC and Charging IC. The vapour chamber covers an area of 4860 mm2 to spread the heat evenly and efficiently.

Having a powerful processor will often quickly eat through the battery. While the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is significantly more efficient than Snapdragon 888, it still needs quite a large battery to power itself through the day.

The Poco F4 GT will feature a 4700 mAh dual-cell battery with 120 W super fast charging. This is the fastest charging ever seen in any Poco phone. Poco claims that it will charge the phone from 0-100 percent in 17 minutes. Even with a demanding application running in the background, Poco claims that it will charge up to 100 percent in 27 minutes.

The charging cable is an L-Type cable that is designed with ergonomics in mind. While playing any game in landscape mode, the normal protruding cable comes in between the fingers which can get annoying for many.

It will also feature something called “AdaptiveCharge”. It will preserve the battery life by learning your charging patterns and charging up to 80% in the nighttime when it is plugged in for a long time.

For display, the Poco F4 GT will feature 6.67 inches of AMOLED display. It will have a 120 Hz refresh rate and support for 10-bit colours. The screen will be protected by Corning Gorilla Victus.

In the camera department, it is equipped with 2 Sony sensors – IMX686, a 64 MP camera for the rear and the IMX596, 20 MP for the front camera. In the rear triple camera setup, it features an 8 MP ultra-wide and 2 MP macro lens along with the Sony IMX686.

Apart from these primary specifications, Poco F4 GT also has some nifty features like Magnetic pop-up triggers and RGB lighting. The magnetic pop-up triggers can be customised to trigger some features that you might want to activate with a single button.

The RGB lighting at the back is carried over from the earlier Poco F3 GT but sports a slightly different design.

Poco F4 GT will be available in 3 different colours – Stealth Black, Knight Silver and Cyber Yellow.

The 6GB/128GB variant will be available for €599 (₹48,999) and the 8GB/256GB will be available for the price of €699 (₹50,000). Poco will host an early bird offer where you can avail of the phone for €100 less. Poco F4 GT will be available from April 28 to May 7.
