HP has unveiled its lineup of Omen series gaming laptops, monitors and HyperX peripherals at CES 2024, with a clear focus on integrating AI technology to enhance the gaming experience.
The announcement includes the new OMEN Transcend 14 and 16 gaming laptops, Omen Victus 16.1 and Omen 16 gaming laptops, OMEN Transcend 32 gaming monitor, and a variety of HyperX peripherals.

OMEN Transcend 14
The OMEN Transcend 14 packs quite a punch for its small size. Weighing only, 1637 grams, it’s one of the lightest in its class. Under the hood, the OMEN Transcend 14 is powered by Intel® Core™ Ultra processors, with options up to the 9 185H model, boasting up to 5.1 GHz speeds, 24 MB L3 cache, and up to 16 cores and 22 threads. This is complemented by NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 4000 series GPUs, 4050 to 4070 offering substantial graphical power in a compact form.
It features a 14-inch 2.8K OLED display with a 120 Hz variable refresh rate, offering exceptional visual quality with rich colors and deep blacks. The display’s HDR 500 nits brightness and 100% DCI-P3 color gamut make it excellent for both gaming and creative work.
Additionally, the laptop features a range of connectivity options, including Thunderbolt™ 4 and USB Type-C® ports, and offers up to 11.5 hours of battery life, making it both versatile and enduring.
AI boost
The use Intel® Core™ Ultra 9 185H processor with ith NPU core helps Transcend 14 with AI boost. Add to this NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Laptop GPUs. This overall results in improved performance with the latest games or handle compute-intensive tasks.

Its innovative cooling system which HP developed inpartnership with Intel makes Omen Transcend 14 -world’s coolest 14-inch gaming laptop according to HP. The audio of the laptop is tuned by HyperX.
OMEN Transcend 16
OMEN Transcend 16 is the more robust and powerful option in HP’s gaming lineup. It is powered by 14th gen Intel® Core™ i9 and i7 HX series processors, with the top model reaching up to 5.8 GHz, 36 MB L3 cache, 24 cores, and 32 threads.
The GPU offering is similar to Transcend 14 with NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 4000 series GPUs ranging from 4050 to 4070.
Transcend 16 is also equipped with a larger 16-inch display, offering options up to WQXGA (2560 x 1600) OLED with a 240 Hz refresh rate. This high-refresh-rate display, combined with HDR 500 nits brightness and 100% DCI-P3 color gamut in a bigger surface area, definitely will enhance gaming experience.
Memory options go up to 32 GB of DDR5-5600 MHz RAM, and storage options are similar to the OMEN Transcend 14, with up to 2 TB of PCIe® Gen4 NVMe™ TLC M.2 SSD.
The laptop’s larger footprint allows for additional connectivity, including dual Thunderbolt™ 4 ports and an RJ-45 port, catering to a broader range of peripherals and network options.
The battery life is also impressive at up to 10.5 hours, and the device supports fast charging, providing approximately 50% charge in 30 minutes.
OMEN Victus 16 and Omen 16
HP also announced the mid-budget Omen 16 and Victus 16 gaming laptops, which are also updated with latest 14th gen Intel® Core™ i7 HX processors
OMEN Transcend 32 Gaming Monitor:
Coming to gaming monitor launched by HP. We have OMEN Transcend 32 with 32-inch UHD 240Hz OLED display.
One of the striking features is use of QD-OLED Panel Technology that enables an insane 1,500,000:1 contrast ratio across its 4K UHD. The monitor has 240Hz refresh rate, and 0.3 ms response time panel.
Samsung also launched their QD-OLED based Samsung Odyssey G series gaming monitors at CES 2024.
Plus, the monitor features Dolby Vision, along with VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification and covers 100% DCI-P3 color space. Resulting in an excellent picture quality with high color accuracy.
The OMEN Transcend 32 also boasts several firsts in terms of connectivity and user experience. It features independent switchable USB Ports and smart KVM capabilities, allowing seamless switching between multiple devices and easy file transfer between different devices.
It also has 140W USB-C power delivery is a notable convenience, reducing cable clutter.
When it comes to monitors, no one focuses on audio. But Omen Transcend monitor does with the inclusion of audio tuned by HyperX, with a customizable 10-band EQ. Kudos to HP for this.
Addressing OLED Concerns
Understanding the concerns associated with OLED technology, such as burn-in, HP has implemented OMEN Tempest Monitor Cooling Technology to prolong the panel’s lifespan. This innovation, along with a 3-year warranty.
With OMEN Transcend 32, HP has really tried to make its mark in the gaming monitors space, currently being dominated by LG, Samsung, Acer and Asus. All of which launched their gaming monitors at CES 2024.

HyperX: Expanding the Gaming Ecosystem
CES 2024 also showcases new HyperX headsets, keyboards, a controller, and other peripherals, all designed for Spring 2024 release. This includes the HyperX Cloud Mini Headsets, specifically designed for younger gamers.

With these announcements, HP reinforces its commitment to the gaming niche, which is a lucrative market. HP also introduced its 2 in 1 Spectre x360 14 and 16 at CES 2024.
The integration of AI technology in both local and cloud-based solutions illustrates AI is the one of the key terms of CES 2024.
