Best games releasing in July 2023

The first half of the year is done and it’s been a good year for gaming. However, some of the biggest games of the year are yet to come and one of them is coming in July. While we look at the second half of gaming, here is a list of the best games coming in July 2023.

Pikmin 4

Pikmin 4 is a real-time strategy game developed and published by Nintendo. It will be the fourth main installment of the Pikmin series, following Pikmin 3. It has got a visual upgrade and it will have new mechanics.

The game is set on a mysterious planet, and players will take control of a new recruit to the Rescue Corps, who must repair the damaged Rescue Corps spaceship and rescue any Castaways they find. Players will be able to command a variety of Pikmin, including new types like Ice Pikmin and Glow Pikmin, to explore the planet and complete objectives.

Pikmin 4 will also feature a new night-time mode, which will introduce new challenges and enemies. Players will need to use their Pikmin’s abilities to survive in the darkness, and they will also need to be careful not to attract the attention of the more aggressive creatures that come out at night.

Pikmin 4 releases on July 21 for Switch only.

The Expanse: A Telltale Series Episode 1

This game is the direct prequel to the sci-fi TV show, Expanse and is faithfully adapted from the source material. The Expanse: A Telltale Series Episode 1 is a narrative game with the Telltale formula and this time around, the remaining episodes will launch every two weeks after Episode One launches on July 27th, as claimed by Telltale Games.

The game begins with Drummer and her crew scavenging a derelict ship in the asteroid belt. After a brief encounter with pirates, Drummer and her crew are forced to make a difficult decision that will have far-reaching consequences.

The Expanse: A Telltale Series Episode 1 releases on July 27 for PS4, PS5, Xbox Seris S|X, and PC (Epic)

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart

One of the critically acclaimed Playstation exclusives is coming to PC this month. Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is a 3D platformer action-adventure game developed by Insomniac Games and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment.

In Rift Apart, Ratchet and Clank must stop Dr. Nefarious from using a powerful device to conquer the multiverse. The game features new worlds to explore, new weapons to use, and new abilities for Ratchet and Clank.

The PC version of Rift Apart will feature a number of enhancements, including ray-traced reflections and shadows. The game will also support DualSense controllers, which will allow players to feel the haptic feedback and adaptive triggers of the controller.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is a highly anticipated game, and fans of the series are eager to see how it performs on PC. The highly anticipated implementation of Direct Storage for instant loads in the game.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart releases on July 26 for PC.

Remnant 2

One of the most anticipated games of the year, Remnant 2 is finally here. A follow-up to the third-person shooter, souls-like, it was a unique formula that was enjoyed by many. The game is set in a post-apocalyptic world where humans are forced to fight for survival against creatures from other worlds. Players will take control of a new character and explore a variety of different worlds, each with its own unique challenges and enemies.

The new game will feature co-op with up to 2 more players or you can play solo too. Just like the first one, the game will feature procedural generation and has improved on it. Even if you play a level twice, it won’t be the exact same, granting amazing replayability.

The bosses look amazing and are sure to give the players a hard and amazing time. Remnant 2 releases on July 25 on PS5, Xbox Series S|X, and PC.

Exoprimal

Exoprimal is an online team-based action game and is set in the year 2040 where humans are forced to fight for survival against hordes of dinosaurs from the past. Players will take control of a new exosuit and team up with up to 9 other players to complete missions and earn rewards. 

The new game will feature a variety of exosuits to choose from, each with its own unique abilities. Players will need to use these abilities to survive against the dinosaurs, which will come in waves of all shapes and sizes. The game will also feature a variety of missions, including rescue missions, escort missions, and more.

Exoprimal releases on July 14 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

GYLT

GYLT is a survival horror game developed and published by Tequila Works. It was released on November 19, 2019 for Google Stadia. It is notable for being one of the few Stadia-exclusive titles, causing it to be temporarily unavailable for sale upon that platform’s shutdown in 2023. It is currently planned for a multiplatform re-release.

The game’s main character is Sally, a young girl who is trying to find her missing cousin, Emily. After school bullies cause her to crash her bike, she enters a nightmare world with dark parallels to her bullying.

Players will explore a dark and twisted version of their town, Bethelwood, solving puzzles and fighting off creatures as they search for Emily. The game features a heavy emphasis on atmosphere and storytelling, and it is sure to appeal to fans of horror games and narrative adventures.

The game will also have co-op gameplay and improved graphics and gameplay that will make the game even more immersive and exciting.

GYLT releases on July 6 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Synapse

Synapse is a mind-bending action-shooter developed by nDreams for PlayStation VR2. It is set in the subconscious of a notorious enemy of the state, and players take control of an operative who must use their telekinesis abilities to fight their way through the enemy’s mind.

The game features a unique blend of action and puzzle-solving, and players will need to use their telekinesis abilities to solve puzzles, defeat enemies, and progress through the game. The game also features a dark and atmospheric art style that is sure to immerse players in the experience.

Synapse releases on July 4 on PlayStation VR2.

Jagged Alliance 3

Jagged Alliance 3 is a turn-based tactical RPG developed by Haemimont Games and published by THQ Nordic. It is the sequel to the 2004 game Jagged Alliance 2: Wildfire, and it is set in the fictional country of Geogadiya. 

Players take control of a team of mercenaries and must use their skills and abilities to liberate Geogadiya from the grip of a corrupt dictator. The game features a turn-based combat system, and players will need to carefully plan their moves in order to defeat their enemies.

The game also features a deep customization system, and players can choose from a variety of different classes and skills for their mercenaries. The game also features a procedurally generated world, which means that each playthrough will be different.

Unholy

Unholy is a psychological horror game developed by HOOK and published by 505 Games. It is set in a post-Soviet town in Eastern Europe, and players take control of Saidah, a mother who is searching for her missing son. 

The game features a unique blend of exploration, puzzle-solving, and combat. Players will need to explore the town and its surroundings to find clues about their son’s disappearance. They will also need to solve puzzles and defeat enemies in order to progress through the game.

It is made by a very small team of game developers but the visuals look amazing and the gameplay mechanics are very unique where you use emotions in battle and use different masks for special abilities.

The game also features a dark and atmospheric art style that is sure to immerse players in the experience. The game’s psychological horror elements are sure to keep players on edge, and the game’s story is sure to stay with players long after they finish playing. There is a demo on Steam if you want to give it a try.

Unholy releases on July 20 for PC.

Oxenfree 2: Lost Signals

Oxenfree 2: Lost Signals is the sequel to the critically acclaimed narrative adventure game Oxenfree. Five years after the events of the first game, Riley returns to her hometown of Camena to investigate mysterious radio signals. What she finds is more than she bargained for.

The game features a similar gameplay style to the first game, with players exploring the environment, interacting with characters, and making choices that will affect the story. The game will feature new mechanics, such as the ability to hack into computers and the ability to use a walkie-talkie to communicate with other characters.

Oxenfree 2: Lost Signals releases on July 12 for PS4, PS5, Switch, Android, iOS, and PC.
