Update: The Ryzen non-X 7900 has been confirmed at CES 2023 and it will be available to purchase starting January 10.
The pricing speculation for the Ryzen 7000 was accurate. The pricing and specifications for the next Ryzen 7000 series, which is scheduled to arrive next year, are displayed on slides from the embargoed presentation. The so-called 7000 non-X series CPUs in question have a base TDP of 65W.
Processor | Cores | Boost Clock/Base Clock | TDP | Launch Price | Current Price |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Ryzen 5 7600X | 6-core/12-threads | 5.3GHz / 4.7GHz | 105W | ₹29,499 ($299) | ₹23,699 ($248) |
Ryzen 5 7600 | 6-core/12-threads | 5.1GHz / 3.8GHz | 65W | $229 (expected price in India – ₹22,300) | N/A |
Ryzen 7 7700X | 8-core/16-threads | 5.4GHz/4.5GHz | 105W | ₹39,499 ($399) | ₹32,899 ($348) |
Ryzen 7 7700 | 8-core/16-threads | 5.3GHz/3.8GHz | 65W | $329 (expected price in India – ₹32,000) | N/A |
Ryzen 9 7900X | 12-core/24-threads | 5.6GHz/4.7GHz | 170W | ₹53,999 ($549) | ₹45,899 ($439) |
Ryzen 9 7950X | 16-core/32-threads | 5.7GHz/4.5GHz | 170W | ₹67,999 ($699) | ₹57,899 ($580) |
Ryzen 9 7900 | 12-core/24-threads | 5.4GHz/3.7GHz | 65W | $429 (expected price in India – ₹41,700) | N/A |
The higher TDP X series of Ryzen 7000 was not well received because of the high prices of motherboards. This forced AMD to lower the prices of these processors which have now dropped significantly in comparison to Intel 13th gen processors.

Ryzen 9 7900, Ryzen 7 7700, and Ryzen 5 7600 are the three SKUs AMD is planning.
Starting with the Ryzen 9 7900, it will be a 12-core CPU with a boost frequency of up to 5.4 GHz. As per reports, the base frequency will be 3.7 GHz, which is exactly 1.0 GHz slower than the 7900X. This CPU would cost $429 and compete with the Intel Core i9-13900 (unreleased yet) and i9-12900 CPUs.
The base and boost clocks for the 8-core Ryzen 7 7700 non-X are 3.8 GHz and 5.3 GHz, respectively. Compared to the 7700X model, the base frequency is 700 MHz lower while the maximum frequency is only 100 MHz lower. With a $329 price tag, this processor would go up against Intel’s Core i7-13700 and i7-12700K models.
The 6-core Ryzen 5 7600 finally receives a boost clock of 5.1 GHz and a base clock of 3.8 GHz (0.9 GHz slower than 7600X). At $229, this CPU would be priced to compete with the Core i5-13600 and i5-12600 processors.

The 65W CPUs will come with the coolers, which are known as Wraith Prism and Wraith Stealth. The former will be packaged with Ryzen 5 7600, while the latter will be added to Ryzen 9 7900, Ryzen 7 7700, and other CPUs.
On January 9, the full embargo on Ryzen 7000 non-X series processors will end and it will be available to purchase starting 10 January. AMD will, however, make these CPU announcements a few days earlier during the CES 2023 conference.
