Samsung Expands Popular Circle to Search Feature to Galaxy A Series and Tab S9 FE Lineup

Samsung is bringing its advanced Circle to Search feature, first introduced on flagship devices like the Galaxy S24 series, to a broader range of users. Initially exclusive to premium models, the feature is now set to roll out to mid-range smartphones, including the Galaxy A55, A54, A35, and A34, as well as the Galaxy Tab S9 FE and S9 FE+ tablets.

Circle to Search is an innovative feature that allows users to perform visual searches by simply drawing a circle or highlighting an object, text, or even parts of a video on their screens.

This function enables quick access to relevant information, whether it’s identifying a product seen in a video, translating a block of text, or finding a location on a map. The feature has gained popularity for its ease of use and integration with other AI-driven capabilities like full-page translation and QR code scanning.

The feature was first introduced in early 2024 on the Galaxy S24 series and Google’s Pixel 8 lineup. Samsung quickly expanded it to other high-end devices, including the Galaxy Z series, and is now making it available to more budget-friendly models.

The rollout of Circle to Search to the Galaxy A series and Tab S9 FE lineup is expected to begin in late August 2024. Users will benefit from the same robust functionality as those on higher-end devices, including the ability to use the Galaxy S Pen for more precise searches on tablets.

According to Samsung, the feature will be activated through a software update, though the exact timing may vary by region and device model. In addition to its existing capabilities, Samsung is working on further enhancements to Circle to Search. Future updates are expected to include features like audio recognition, which could allow users to identify songs or sounds by simply circling them on the screen.
