Just ahead of Google I/O 2024, a leak from a Russian source has revealed live images and specifications for the entire Pixel 9 lineup. This leak comes after previous blurry images of the Pixel 9 Pro surfaced.
Three Pixel 9 Variants Leaked
The leak confirms Google will be introducing three Pixel 9 devices: Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and Pixel 9 Pro XL. The Pixel 9 Pro XL appears to be a larger version of the Pixel 9 Pro, similar to the iPhone 15 Pro Max’s relationship to the iPhone 15 Pro.
The leaked images showcase the phones powered on, and according to the source, all three will sport 120Hz refresh rate displays. The leaked images also show the pixel density in each of the models.
Design Overhaul
The images hint at a design overhaul for the Pixel 9 series. It looks like Google is making minor changes each generation to arrive at something better. It ditches the edge-to-edge design of the Pixel 8 and adopts a completely new look. The new design has more rounded edges with a larger radius.

Another most noticeable change is the camera bar. The back panel and screen are now flat, replacing the previous generation’s curved design. Even the side edges follow suit and are completely flat for a more uniform aesthetic.

The most significant upgrade for the base Pixel 9 is the rumoured 12GB of RAM, a feature previously exclusive to the Pixel 8 Pro. Here’s a detailed breakdown of the leaked specifications for all three devices:
- Pixel 9 (Codename: Tokay)
