May has not been very kind to gamers but luckily we have June to look forward to. Legend of Zelda: Kingdom of Tears was a hit but a couple of games got delayed to June like Amnesia: The Bunker. Highly anticipated games like Lord of The Rings: Gollum and Redfall didn’t meet expectations.
June has some of the most anticipated games coming out. May is over and it’s time to look at the best games releasing in June 2023.
Final Fantasy 16
One of the most anticipated games of the year, this is the sixteenth main instalment of the game and will be a timed PlayStation exclusive. This iconic JRPG is back but this time around they are going complete “action RPG”. It will depart from the turn-based combat of previous Final Fantasy games and feature an action-based system where you can also use magic and special abilities.
The game is set in Valisthea, divided into six realms, each of which is ruled by a different Eikon. The story follows Clive Rosfield, a young knight tasked with hunting down Ifrit, a powerful Eikon that has gone rogue. Clive is joined by his childhood friend Joshua Rosfield, who is the bearer of the Eikon Phoenix, and a group of other companions.
Final Fantasy was built on narrative and its excellent turn-based combat. It needs to be seen how well this goes given how good the Final Fantasy 7 Remake which turned to action RPG, there is hope for this to go really well.
Final Fantasy 16 releases on June 6 for PS5 exclusively.
Street Fighter VI
The beloved fighting game is back and we are all for it. It will feature a new art style, new gameplay mechanics, and a roster of returning and new characters.
The game’s art style is a departure from the previous games in the series. It features a more realistic look, with characters that have more detailed facial expressions and body movements. The game’s gameplay mechanics have also been overhauled. The game now features a new Drive System, which allows players to perform special moves by spending Drive Gauge. The game also features a new Break Gauge, which can be used to perform special counters.
Returning characters include Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, M. Bison, and Zangief. New characters include Jamie, a Scottish martial artist who uses capoeira, and Luke, a young American fighter who is eager to prove himself.
Street Fighter 6 is being developed by Capcom’s internal fighting game team, and it is being directed by Yoshinori Ono. The game’s music is being composed by Yasunori Nishiki, who also composed the music for Street Fighter V.
Street Fighter 6 releases on June 2 for the PS4, PS5, Windows and Xbox Series X/S.

Amnesia: The Bunker
Developed by Frictional Games, Amnesia: The Bunker is a first-person survival horror game, like any other Amnesia game. The game is set in a World War II bunker, and it follows the story of a French soldier named Henri Clement. Henri is trapped in the bunker and hunted by a mysterious but photosensitive monster named “the Beast”.
To survive in the bunker, Henri must maintain the base’s power while collecting resources and ammo, which are randomly placed on the game’s map. Henri can also use a revolver and other throwable items such as grenades and flares to fight against enemies, but ammo is very scarce, which doesn’t give a lot of hope for having a weapon like a gun.
If you like Amnesia games, this one looks interesting and you should definitely check out Amnesia: The Bunker. There is a demo for this game available if you want to try it out first.

Diablo 4
This month is mostly about sequels and the Diablo series has one too. It is the fourth main instalment in the Diablo series and will feature a new open world, new classes, and new skills.
The game’s open world is a departure from the previous games in the series, which were mostly linear. The open world will allow you to explore freely and choose your own path. The game will also feature a variety of side quests and activities, as well as a main story campaign.
The game will also feature a new skill tree that allows players to further customize their characters. Diablo 4 will also have a variety of multiplayer modes, including cooperative play and player-versus-player combat. With all the new changes, it is still a very Diablo game and will not stay too far from its root upsetting long-time fans.

The game is set in a small Japanese town in 1983, and it follows the story of Nini, a new arrival who has the ability to rewind time. Nini must use his ability to help the people of Ashihara, a town that is being threatened by the Kegai, supernatural entities that are taking control of people’s hearts.
The game’s combat system is turn-based, and it features a unique relationship-based system. The strength of Nini’s attacks is determined by the strength of his relationships with the people of Ashihara. As Nini strengthens his relationships, he will be able to perform more powerful attacks.

Crash Bandicoot: Crash Team Rumble
Crash Team Rumble is an upcoming free-to-play battle royale game developed by Toys for Bob and published by Activision. Crash Team Rumble is a 4v4 team-based battle royale game where players must collect Wumpa Fruit to score points. The team with the most points at the end of the match wins.
There is also an element of competitive platforming which is scarce. You can choose from a variety of Crash Bandicoot characters, each with their own unique abilities and skills. The game also features a variety of power-ups that can be used to gain an advantage over the opposing team.
Crash Team Rumble will release on June 20 for the PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Series S.
Alien: Dark Descent
Alien: Dark Descent is an upcoming real-time strategy (RTS) game developed by Tindalos Interactive and published by Focus Entertainment.
The game is set in the Alien universe and follows a squad of Colonial Marines as they investigate a mysterious outbreak on a remote planet. Players will control the squad and must use their skills and abilities to survive against the Xenomorphs.
The game will feature a variety of weapons and equipment, as well as a branching storyline that will change depending on the player’s choices. Trepang 2
Trepang 2 is a first-person shooter video game developed by Trepang Studios and published by Team17. It looks very similar to the FEAR with its gameplay and style of combat. You take control of a super soldier who has been imprisoned in a secret government facility. You must escape from the facility and uncover the truth about what is happening there.
It is a fast-paced and action-packed game that features a variety of weapons and abilities. You use your superhuman strength and speed to take down enemies, and they can also use their environment to their advantage.
