HP has launched laptops under their Pavilion lineup with the latest 12th gen Intel processors. Along with the Pavilion 15, HP also launched their Pavilion 14 and Pavilion x360.
The new Pavilion 15 has several variants powered by the latest 12th-gen Intel processor.
The base model (EG2002TU) which is priced at ₹69,999 is powered by i5-1240p which is quite a performer for a laptop processor. It’s a 12 core, 16 thread processor with a base clock of 1.7 GHz and a boost clock up to 4.4 GHz. It is paired with the integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics card.
With 512 GB of NVMe SSD storage and 16 GB of DDR4 RAM in the dual-channel mode, the laptop has really good specifications at this price point.
Another variant (EG2035TU) with the same i5-1240p processor provides a better display with 100% SRGB, IPS panel at an extra price of ₹3,000. Apart from that, all the other specifications remain the same.
Another variant (EG2019TX) with Intel i5-1235U is a more power-efficient processor which is 10 core, 12-threads processor with a base clock of 1.3GHz and a boost clock up to 4.4GHz. It is paired with the discrete graphics Nvidia MX450.
HP Pavilion also has a variant with Intel i7-1260p which is priced at ₹89,999 (listed on the official website, can it get it for less on other online retailers like Amazon or Reliance Digital). Intel i7-1260p is 12 cores, 16 threads processor with a base clock of 2.1 GHz and a boost clock of up to 4.7 GHz.
It should be noted that it doesn’t perform better than the i5-1260p even with higher clocks and core count. Apart from the processor, all the other specifications remain the same in this variant (EG2039TU) too.
Better than earlier Pavilion 15 models?
The new HP Pavilion lineups are significantly better than the previous models with 11th gen processors at the same price point.
The Intel i5-1240p are processors made specifically for thin laptops providing the best of efficiency and power. Comapred to the 11th gen, i5-1155G7, i5-1240p is twice as fast in multi-core performance (Passmark CPU test). The results are similar between i7-1165G7 and i7-1260p.
The increased efficiency of the new processors will have a positive affect on the battery life of the laptops while being more powerful.
The new models are available to purchase on HP’s official website. One of the new models is on sale right now on Reliance Digital for a price of ₹69,999. More variants will be available soon on other platforms like Amazon and other retail partners.
HP also announced more models based on AMD variants for Pavilion 15 and Pavilion 14. You can check them out here.
