Gigabyte has expanded its lineup of AMD A620 motherboards with the addition of three new mATX models: the A620M DS3H, A620M S2H, and A620M H. All three models are designed for budget-minded users who are looking for a reliable and capable platform for their AMD Ryzen 7000 series processors.
The A620M DS3H is the most feature-rich of the three models, and it’s the only one to include a VRM heatsink as well as four memory slots. The other two models have two memory slots each. All three models feature a single PCIe 4.0 x16 slot, a PCIe 3.0 x1 slot, a single PCIe 4.0 M.2 NVMe slot, four SATA ports, a DP 1.4 port, and an HDMI 2.1 port.

All three boards also sport Gigabit Ethernet, a Realtek-based audio solution, and a 90-degree angled USB 3.2 5 Gbps header. The A620M DS3H is the only model that gets a USB Type-C port around the back, but it’s limited to 5 Gbps data speeds.

All three models also support Gigabyte’s QFlash Plus UEFI recovery/flashing solution, making it possible to update the UEFI/BIOS without having a CPU on the board. They all support the full range of AM5 CPUs up to 170 W, courtesy of a 5+2+2 PWM design.
While these might not be the most exciting boards on the market, they seem like a solid option for budget-minded users who are looking for a reliable and capable platform for their AMD Ryzen 7000 series processors.

GIGABYTE has also unveiled the UD-A620I-X, the first Mini-ITX motherboard with the entry-level AMD A620 chipset.
The UD-A620I-X offers a comprehensive I/O feature set, including a 9-phase VRM to power the SoC, two DDR5 DIMM slots, a PCI-Express 4.0 x16 slot, HDMI and DisplayPort outputs, Wi-Fi 6 wireless connectivity, 2.5 GbE wired networking, two SATA 6 Gbps ports, four USB 3.2 type-A ports on the rear I/O, an internal type-E port (for security keys), and an internal USB 3.2 header.

The UD-A620I-X is restricted to 65 W TDP processors, such as the Ryzen 7 7600, Ryzen 7 7700, and Ryzen 7 7900. It does not support PCIe Gen 5, even on the CPU-attached M.2 NVMe slot. However, it does offer a good balance of features and performance for a Mini-ITX motherboard. Pricing has not yet been announced.
The new A620 chipset motherboards from Gigabyte can encourage more people to build a new budget-focused AM5 build even with the ITX form factor.
