Galaxy S24 lineup gets Titanium frame, AI capabilities and new colours

It’s time for another Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event coming soon in January 2024 and we will see the official reveal of the new Samsung Galaxy S24 series. A recent leak by Windows Report has given us an early look at the designs of the phone and specifications of Galaxy S24 Ultra.

Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra

The Galaxy S24 Ultra isn’t just a refresh, it’s a statement. Gone are the curves, replaced by a bold, flat-fronted display. This might seem like a minor change, but it’s a big signal: Samsung is prioritizing performance and functionality over aesthetics.

The S24 Ultra keeps things buttery smooth with a 120Hz refresh rate, but the real game-changer is its flat screen. Say goodbye to the S23’s subtle edge and hello to a completely flat viewing experience.

Thanks to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and powerful onboard graphics, it will be a gaming and multitasking powerhouse. According to Geekbench benchmark of what looks like the S24 Ultra, it scores 2214 in single-core and 6744 in multi-core tests.

Samsung is equipping the S24 Ultra for serious AI workloads. A large 5,000mAh battery keeps the juice flowing, while a 1.9x bigger vapour chamber ensures the phone stays cool under pressure. This cooling upgrade extends to the smaller S24 models too.

And let’s not forget the camera. The S24 Ultra boasts a new 50MP telephoto lens, capable of 5x optical zoom. Capture distant details with stunning clarity, or get up close and personal without sacrificing quality.

Samsung S24 Ultra will come in 4 different colours: Titanium Black, Titanium Gray, Titanium Violet and Titanium Yellow. The Green colour from the S23 lineup has been replaced with Yellow this time around.

For the first time, Samsung is going with titanium on the S24 Ultra’s frame, meanwhile, the base and Plus models will offer an aluminium frame.

Samsung Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Plus

Alongside the flagship S24 Ultra, Samsung will introduce the S24 and S24 Plus. Think of them as scaled-down versions of the Ultra, minus the titanium frame. They share the same AI capabilities but with slightly different specs and sizes.

The S24 Plus is the bigger brother, boasting a slightly larger vapor chamber (1.6x bigger than last year) for even better thermal management under demanding AI tasks. The S24’s vapor chamber is still 1.5x bigger than its predecessor, proving that even budget models get a cooling boost, mostly for improved AI capabilities.

Both the models will come in the same colours as Galaxy S24 Ultra but with slightly different names: Onyx Black, Marble Grey, Cobalt Violet and Amber Yellow.

Samsung Galaxy S24 series AI capabilities

In 2024, Samsung aims to distinguish its S24 smartphone family by integrating advanced AI capabilities. These features include real-time translation for messaging apps, supporting a wide array of languages and facilitating seamless communication globally.

Additionally, the S24 series will introduce generative AI for photo editing, promising enhanced image quality and creativity. Furthermore, the smartphones will boast improved search functionalities, allowing users to extract additional information about highlighted items in images through the power of Samsung’s AI technology.

Samsung Galaxy S24 lineup is expected to make its debut at the Galaxy Unpacked Event in January.
