Samsung Bringing LTPO Display and Slim Bezels for Galaxy S24

Samsung is reportedly planning to bring LTPO displays and slimmer bezels to the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ smartphones. These changes would represent a significant upgrade over the current Galaxy S23 series, which only features LTPO displays on the top-of-the-line Galaxy S23 Ultra model.

LTPO displays in Galaxy S24 can make it better but…

LTPO displays are able to dynamically adjust their refresh rate depending on the content that is being displayed. This can help to improve battery life by reducing the amount of power that is used when the display is not in need of a high refresh rate. For example, the display can drop down to 1Hz when you are viewing a static image, and then ramp up to 120Hz when you are playing a game or watching a video.

LTPO panels are more advanced than LTPS panels, and Apple uses them exclusively in its “Pro” iPhones. This is because LTPO panels are expensive although they give benefits like energy-efficient, which means that they can deliver longer battery life. Samsung is planning to use LTPO panels in its less expensive 2024 flagship smartphones, which will also result in longer battery life for those devices.

It needs to be seen whether it will force Samsung to hike up the prices for Samsung Galaxy S24 and S24+.

Slimmer bezels on Samsung S24 lineup like Xiaomi and iPhone

According to the tipster Ice Universe, the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Plus will have slimmer bezels than the current Galaxy S23 series. However, the exact measurement details are not yet known.

The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max are rumored to have the slimmest bezels on the market, measuring 1.55mm. This is even slimmer than the Xiaomi 13 Pro, which has bezels measuring 1.81mm.

Again, incorporating a thin bezel is expensive and we need to see if Samsung will keep the price the same or hike it.
