Intel’s next-generation Core Ultra CPUs, codenamed Meteor Lake, are launching soon on December 14th. Dell and Alienware are set to unveil their Meteor Lake-powered laptops in early 2024, just a few weeks after the official launch. Windows Report has leaked information about these upcoming laptops.
The leak gives us a look at the new Dell Alienware and XPS line of laptops along with accessories like monitors and keyboards.
Dell XPS is getting major upgrades in 2024
Dell’s XPS family of laptops is renowned for its sleek design and powerful performance, and the 2024 lineup continues this tradition with significant upgrades to the XPS 13, XPS 14, and XPS 16 laptops.
Starting with the Dell XPS 13 and XPS 14, they will receive sleeker designs and feature Intel’s Raptor Lake Refresh CPUs and Nvidia RTX GPUs. The higher-end XPS 16, however, will be the first to receive Intel’s Meteor Lake Core Ultra CPUs and Nvidia RTX 40 GPUs. The lineup will look as follows:
- Dell XPS 13 (Raptor Lake Refresh with Nvidia RTX GPUs)
- Dell XPS 14 (Raptor Lake Refresh with Nvidia RTX GPUs)
- Dell XPS 16 (Meteor Lake Core Ultra with Nvidia RTX 40 GPUs)
The XPS 13 is known for its portability and performance, catering to those seeking a compact and premium laptop. For 2024, the 13-inch device receives a long-awaited refresh, having been overlooked due to the launch of the XPS 13 Plus.
The XPS 14, a brand-new addition to the lineup, represents Dell’s reimagining of the XPS 15, incorporating the familiar and beloved design language. While smaller than the 15-inch model, the XPS 14 has the potential to become the flagship of the XPS family, primarily due to the recent surge in popularity of 14-inch devices. Both the XPS 13 and XPS 14 boast the latest Intel CPUs and Nvidia RTX graphics.
As anticipated, the new XPS 16 stands as the most powerful laptop in the lineup, likely replacing the previous 17-inch XPS model. It retains the iconic XPS design but packs in the latest Intel Core Ultra CPUs and RTX 40 series graphics.

The next generation of gaming beasts from Dell
Dell Alienware is the flagship gaming lineup from Dell and has improved a lot over the last two generations. Now, it looks like Dell is trying to improve it further with better design and the latest hardware.
Dell is introducing significant changes to its Alienware lineup, starting with the Alienware M16 R2. It will be equipped with Intel Core Ultra H processors and Nvidia graphics, housed within a redesigned chassis with enhanced thermal management to maintain cool operation during extended gaming sessions.
Stealth mode for productivity
A notable addition is Stealth Mode, which seamlessly transitions the laptop from gaming to productivity mode. While this feature has been previously implemented on Dell laptops, its integration into gaming devices by Alienware seems somewhat unconventional.
Essentially, users can quickly tone down gaming-oriented features (RGB lighting, display response time, CPU boost, fan speed, etc.) via a shortcut, transforming the laptop into a workstation. Stealth Mode is also customizable, allowing users to selectively disable or enable specific features.
This feature holds particular appeal for students or gamers who utilize a single device for all their tasks, enabling them to maintain a gamer-centric aesthetic at home while maintaining a more discreet appearance in class or the office. However, it remains to be seen whether the Stealth Mode’s benefits outweigh its limitations, considering that a 16-inch plus laptop inherently lacks subtlety.
Alienware x16 R2 2024
Alienware’s top-tier laptop, the x16 R2, receives a significant upgrade, complementing its sleek all-metal chassis with the latest Intel Core Ultra CPUs and dedicated graphics. For those seeking to make a bold statement, the x16 R2’s customizable AlienFX lighting is the ultimate choice.
Alienware M18 R2 2024
Rounding out the Alienware lineup is the m18 R2, one of the market’s largest gaming laptops. Outfitted with 14th-gen Intel Core processors and NVIDIA RTX 40 Series graphics, the m18 R2 stands as the ultimate gaming beast, offering a massive screen while maintaining a degree of portability.
Dell Alienware’s new gaming monitors and pro bundle
In addition to the updated laptops, Alienware is also introducing a new lineup of gaming monitors and a Pro bundle for gamers who want a top-notch keyboard and mouse combo.
Alienware 27 360Hz Gaming Monitor
This high-performance monitor boasts a QD-OLED display with QHD resolution, exceptional response time and colour coverage, and a blazing-fast 360Hz refresh rate, making it ideal for fast-paced gaming. Customizable RGB lighting, a side headphone mount, and a sturdy stand complete the package.
Alienware 32 4K QD-OLED Gaming Monitor
This curved monitor delivers an immersive viewing experience with its QD-OLED display, 4K resolution, infinite contrast ratio, and Dolby Vision HDR. It’s perfect for gamers seeking stunning visuals and pixel-perfect colours. Additionally, HDMI 2.1 FRL compatibility makes it seamless to switch between PC and console gaming.
Dell UltraSharp 40 Curved Thunderbolt Hub Monitor
This groundbreaking 40-inch 5K monitor elevates both gaming and productivity to new heights. While its front-accessible hub and TUV 5-star certified eye comfort features lean towards productivity, it’s also an excellent choice for immersive gaming. Just ensure you have a spacious desk to accommodate its impressive size.
Alienware Pro Wireless Keyboard and Mouse
This premium bundle includes the Alienware 75% hot-swappable keyboard, designed specifically for gamers, and the ultra-lightweight mouse weighing less than 60 grams. The mouse boasts 4Khz/8Khz polling rate modes, resulting in exceptional response times crucial for shooters and fast-paced games. Of course, both keyboard and mouse feature customizable RGB lighting.
Pricing and Availability
All these accessories and laptops will be available starting January 11th, with the Dell UltraSharp 40 Hub Monitor possibly even earlier. Based on the current laptop and accessory lineup, the life improvement upgrades seem substantial, particularly regarding the new CPUs and GPUs.
While pricing details haven’t been revealed yet, we anticipate that most devices will remain in the same price range as this year’s lineup, with potential minor adjustments for Alienware’s laptop family.
