With 5G arriving in India, the Indian market will definitely see a rise in the demand for sub-10000 5G phones. Lava has come in to fill that gap with its latest 5G offering, the Lava Blaze.
If you do not remember Lava, go back a few years and try to recall one of the Indian phone companies that were significant in the Indian market. Lava already has a Blaze model but it is not 5G and the new Blaze 5G has some hardware upgrades too.
The Lava Blaze 5G dual SIM (nano) smartphone runs Android 12 and has a 6.51-inch HD+ IPS (720×1,600) display with a refresh rate of 90Hz. The monitor has a pixel density of 269ppi and Widevine L1 capability.
It is powered by a 7nm MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. By utilising free storage, the available RAM can be virtually enlarged up to 7GB.
Lava Blaze 5G features an AI-backed triple rear camera set led by a 50-megapixel primary sensor with EIS support (EIS). A front-facing 8-megapixel sensor is available for selfies.
AI, beauty, filters, GIF, HDR, macro, motion, night, panorama, portrait, slow motion timelapse, and UHD are among the professional photography and videography modes supported by both the back and front cameras.
For storage, it has a decent 128GB of UFS 2.2 inbuilt storage that can be increased to 256GB using a microSD card.
The new Lava Blaze 5G comes with a 5,000mAh battery. The battery is touted to provide up to 50 hours of talk time and up to 25 days of standby life on a single charge.
For connectivity, it 5G, Bluetooth V5.1, GLONASS, a 3.5mm audio jack, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, GPRS, and a USB Type-C connector for connectivity. Onboard sensors include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, magnetometer, and proximity sensor.
Overall, Lava Blaze 5G seems to be a decent phone, a genuinely good phone under budget with its specifications. Although it needs to be seen if the phone is actually good or not when it comes out soon.
The Lava Blaze 5G is priced at ₹9,999 for the single 4GB RAM + 128GB storage option. This is initial pricing, and there is no news on how long it will be available. It is available in the colours Glass Blue and Glass Green. The phone will be available for purchase on Amazon.
