Motherboard – MSI PRO B660-P DDR4

MSI PRO B660-P is a good budget motherboard for Intel
10
₹10,190

Quick Specs

  • Form factor: mATX
  • Memory support: 4x DIMM, up to 128GB, up to DDR4-4733
  • Expansion slots: 1x PCIe 4.0 x16, 2x PCIe 3.0 x1
  • Storage: 1x M.2 PCIe 4.0 x4, 4x SATA 6Gbps
  • Networking: No Wi-Fi, 1x Realtek RTL8111H 1Gbps LAN

  • Reliable budget board
  • Features USB Type C port
  • Only one USB 3.2 port (Type A)

The only disadvantage of using an Intel-based PC is the high price of motherboards. Also, if you plan to use DDR5 memory, your overall cost of the build will shoot up. Even the DDR4 motherboards are more expensive than they should be.

MSI PRO is a reliable choice for budget builds. Even though it is a budget board, it costs close to 10000, which is insane! Nevertheless, there is no other choice unless you go for the H610 motherboards which can only have 2 DIMM slots (only 2 sticks of RAM).

MSI PRO offers all the basic things required for a good gaming PC from adequate ports, M.2 slot, SATA ports and necessary PCIe extensions. It has one PCIe 4.0 x16 and 2 PCIe 3.0 x1 expansion slots.

As for storage, you have one M.2 slot and 4 SATA ports. Overall, it is a reliable budget board and even though it is expensive right now, it’s the best you can get.

If you need help with choosing the right motherboard for your PC build, check out this guide.

If you are choosing the AMD processor, you get a wider choice with your motherboards and it is much cheaper too. If you use Ryzen 5 5600X, MSI PRO VDH MAX B550 is a good budget choice.

Graphics Card – AMD RX6600 (8 GB)

AMD RX6600 is a great 1080p gaming choice
10
₹23,799

Quick Specs

  • Compute Units & Ray Accelerators: 32
  • Base Clock: 2044 MHz
  • Boost Clock: 2491 MHz
  • Memory: 8GB GDDR6
  • Memory Width: 128-bit
  • Good value 1080p gaming card
  • Ray tracing performance is a worse compared to Nvidia 30 series cards.

While the AMD RX6600 should be on par with the Nvidia RTX 3060, it is not. RX is slightly slower than the RTX 3060 but also cheaper than an RTX 3060 which makes it the prime choice for solid 1080p gaming.

RTX 2060 has 6GB of memory which is completely fine for 1080p gaming. Although 8GB is ideal, this is not bad. It should be noted that this is not ideal for Ray Tracing as it sacrifices a lot of performance.

It can run pretty much every game at high quality comfortably. It can also run games at 1440p although you might have to dial down some settings.

Note: As of now, the price is fluctuating quite a bit. Sometimes RX 6600XT will be available for ₹2000 to ₹3000 more compared to RX 6600. If you can extend your budget by that much, RX 6600XT will be a value upgrade.

Memory – Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4-3600

Corsair Vengeance 3600MHz RAM is a good balance bwetween performance and price
10
₹4,700

Quick Specs

  • Capacity: 2x 8GB
  • Speed: 3600MT/s
  • Timings: 15-17-17-35
  • Voltage: 1.35V
  • Low latency
  • Best price-to-performance ratio
  • No fancy RGB

The primary target for gaming memory is DDR4-3000 or above, with as minimal CAS latency as feasible while being reasonably priced. Extreme memory makes little sense for general construction, but with DDR4-3600 packages it strikes the balance between price and performance.

Primary Storage – Western Digital Blue SN750 500GB M.2

Western Digital is a reliable storage brand
10
₹3,629

Quick Specs

  • Capacity: 500GB
  • Interface: M.2 PCIe Gen3 x4
  • Sequential IO: 3500/2300MB/s read/write
  • Random IO: 360K/390K IOPS read/write
  • Good value
  • PCIe 3.0 is slower than PCIe 4.0

It’s a PCIe 3.0 m.2 SSD which is not top performing SSD but it is reliable and is a good value for the price.

Power Supply – Corsair CV 550

Corsair CV550 is a great value power supply which is reliable
10
₹3,525

Quick Specs

  • Output: 550W
  • Efficiency: 80 Plus Bronze
  • Connectors: 1x 24-Pin ATX, 1x 8-Pin (4+4) EPS12V, 4x 8-Pin (6+2) PCIe, 6x SATA, 4x Molex, 1x Floppy
  • Modular: Non-modular

The power supply is critical, and you don’t want to compromise on it. Corsair’s power supply has a strong and well-deserved reputation. CV series is a great budget PSU choice and achieves 80 Plus Bronze efficiency.

Most power supplies from the top names are typically excellent, but we wouldn’t invest your money into anything with a guarantee of fewer than five years or an efficiency rating of less than Bronze.

Corsair CV550 is a non-modular Bronze-rated power supply and it is perfectly fine for this PC build.

PC Case – Cooler Master Masterbox K501L RGB (ATX) Mid Tower Cabinet

Coolermaster KL501 is a good budget case
      10
      ₹3,669

      Quick Specs

      • Weight: 4.86kg
      • Dimensions: 49.10cm x 20.00cm x 45.10cm
      • Front Ports: 1x USB 2.0, 1x USB 3.2 Gen 1, 1x 3.5mm Audio Jack, 1x 3.5mm Mic Jack.
      • Preinstalled Fans: 1x120mm in front, 1x120mm in rear
      • Good value
      • Cable management can be a bit tricky
      • No fan hub

The most important thing to look out for in a good case is the airflow. Having a mesh in the front is a standard feature to look out for. Also, look for cases with pre-installed fans if you are on a budget.

Coolermaster Masterbox K501L is a compact ATX cabinet which looks good and offers good airflow.
