Apple is set to raise the bar again with its upcoming iPhone 16 Pro models, promising significant changes to design and functionality. It is now reported that the iPhone 16 Pro bezels are expected to shrink by 33%.
iPhone 16 Pro models could have bezels that are just 1.3mm
With this, the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max models will feature some of the thinnest bezels in smartphone history. This improvement decreases the bezel size to just 1.33mm, compared to the 2mm in the iPhone 15 Pro.
With reduced bezels and slightly bigger chassis, the screens on the Pro models will expand to 6.3 inches for the iPhone 16 Pro and 6.9 inches for the Pro Max, marking the biggest display sizes Apple has ever offered.
Apple is leveraging Border Reduction Structure (BRS) technology to achieve these ultra-thin bezels, a method involving the intricate bending of circuitry near the display’s edge. Despite some initial production challenges, Apple has overcome these before the launch of the iPhone 16 series.

Base Storage for iPhone 16 Pro will be 256GB now
In addition to the visual overhaul, Apple is making a significant change to the storage tiers of the iPhone 16 Pro series. For the first time, the base model will start at 256GB, doubling the previous 128GB baseline. Apple is likely to maintain the $1,099 starting price for the Pro models, though there is speculation that the increased storage could lead to a slight price hike.
Apple will officially launch the iPhone 16 lineup at its September 9 event, where more details will be confirmed. Stay tuned for more on what could be Apple’s most significant iPhone upgrade yet.
