Some pictures of the Sapphire Nitro variant of the AMD Radeon RX 7900 GRE 16 GB graphics card were leaked by @wxnod. The card features a triple-fan and triple-slot cooler, which is similar to the other Radeon RX 7900 (XT & XTX) series cards. It also has dual HDMI and dual DP outputs, dual 8-pin power connectors, a BIOS switch, an ARGB header, and a Fan-In connector.
The card has 84 RDNA 3 compute units, which is the same number as the RX 7900 XT. However, it has a slimmed-down memory configuration of 256-bit, compared to the RX 7900 XT’s 384-bit. This means that the RX 7900 GRE has less memory bandwidth, which could impact performance in some games.
The RX 7900 GRE also has 64 MB of Infinity Cache, which is 26 MB lower than the RX 7900 XT. Infinity Cache is a type of on-chip cache that helps to improve performance by reducing the need to access slower system memory.
The RX 7900 GRE is expected to launch at a slightly lower price point than the RX 7900 XT, which retails for $849 US. A price of $749-$799 US is possible, which would make it competitive with the NVIDIA RTX 4070 series.
It has a similar core configuration to the RX 7900 XT, but it has a lower memory bandwidth and Infinity Cache. This could impact performance in some games, but it should still be a great card for gaming at 1440p and 4K resolutions.
The AMD Radeon RX 7900 GRE is rumored to launch around September, along with the Radeon RX 7800 XT and RX 7700 XT GPUs.
The packaging of the AMD Radeon RX 7900 GRE confirms that it is a 16 GB graphics card. The packaging also has Chinese labels, which suggests that the card might be exclusive to China. However, it is possible that the card may be released in other regions in the future.
