Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy Z Flip 6 at the Galaxy Unpacked Event, with minor upgrades and a higher starting price of $1,099. The flip phone was launched alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy Watch Ultra, Galaxy Buds Pro, and Galaxy Ring.

Here is everything you need to know about the Galaxy Z Flip 6.

Specifications

  • Processor: Snapdragon 8 Gen 3
  • Memory and Storage: 12GB of RAM, with 256GB and 512GB storage options.
  • Display: 3.4-inch cover screen, 6.7-inch FHD+ main display
  • Battery: 4,000mAh battery with vapor cooling chamber.
  • Camera: 50MP main camera sensor and updated ultrawide camera.

Under the hood, the Z Flip 6 is powered by a specially tuned Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. The base model of the Z Flip 6 now comes with 12GB of RAM, up from the previous 8GB, and starts with 512GB of storage, doubling the previous generation’s capacity.

The Galaxy Z Flip 6 continues with the same 3.4-inch cover screen, like in the earlier Flip 5 and it is also notably smaller than the 4.0-inch display on the recently released Motorola Razr 50 Ultra. It unfolds to reveal a large 6.7-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.

While the outer screen software updates are modest, Samsung has introduced new smart reply suggestions for messages, additional widget options, and interactive wallpapers that respond to the phone’s movements.

The phone now features a 50MP main camera sensor, consistent with the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and base-model S24 devices, and an updated ultrawide camera for improved low-light performance.

Key improvements in the Galaxy Z Flip 6 include a larger 4,000mAh battery and the introduction of a vapor cooling chamber, a first for the Flip series. This upgrade is expected to enhance performance and efficiency, particularly during intensive tasks.

It will run on Android 14 and offers seven years of OS and security updates, ensuring long-term software support. The device also features the comprehensive suite of AI capabilities introduced with the S24 series, enhancing the phone’s overall functionality.
