Anthropic launches Claude Sonnet 4.5 – Best coding Model | Computer Use

Anthropic – the company behind one of the leading AI model Claude has launched its latest model Claude Sonnet 4.5. The new model comes with – best coding performance yet (said with every new AI model launch :P), now supports computer use vis Chrome, most aligned model according to Anthropic. Anthropic also announced new product updates – updated Claude Code, native VS Code extension, Agent SDK and more

Sonnet 4.5 is leading Coding model and is state-of-the-art on the SWE-bench Verified evaluation

Company touts Sonnet 4.5 as World’s best coding model. The Claude models have been leading models when it comes to coding tasks. Sonnet 4.5 takes this further.

On the SWE-bench Verified evaluation, which measures real-world software coding abilities. Claude Sonnet 4.5 leads the charts.

Claude Sonnet 4.5 also shows improved capabilities on a broad range of evaluations including reasoning and math.

The model is also most “Aligned”

The new Sonnet 4.5 according to Anthropic – “the most aligned frontier model we’ve ever released”

Sonnet 4.5 shows large improvements across several areas of alignment compared to previous Claude models.

Sonnet 4.5 now directly supports Computer use via Chrome Extension

Apart from coding and intelligence, the new Sonnet 4.5 now supports computer use.

Claude Sonnet 4.5 represents a significant leap forward on computer use. On OSWorld, a benchmark that tests AI models on real-world computer tasks.

This is supported via Claude for Chrome extension. But currently the extension is available for Claude Max users only.

Seems like Sonnet 4.5 is all set to repeat greatness of Sonnet 3.5 – which at the time reigned the throne for quite sometime. But, who knows things in AI land move fast

Anthropic recommends upgrading to Claude Sonnet 4.5 for all uses. The Pricing remains the same as Claude Sonnet 4, at $3/$15 per million tokens.

Sonnet 4.5 is a drop-in replacement that provides much improved performance for the same price.
