Samsung continues to expand its Galaxy-F series with its newest entrant, Galaxy F42. This is the first mobile phone to feature 5G connectivity in India which supports 12 different bands.
The new Galaxy F42 comes with a triple-camera setup – 64MP main camera, 5 MP macro camera and a third 2 MP camera as a depth sensor.
The new Galaxy F42 also features a 90 Hz refresh rate with 2160×10800 (HD+) display. The phone has a display size of 6.6 inches.
All this is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 700 which is an Octa-core processor with a primary clock speed of 2.2 GHz. The GPU on this phone is a Mali G57 MC2.
The phone will only be available in 2 colours – Matte Black and Matte Aqua.
Price and Availability
The phone will be available on Flipkart when Flipkart’s Big Billion Day sale starts on October 3. It will start at ₹20999 for a 6 GB RAM variant.
The 8 GB variant will be available at a price of 22999 with storage at 128 GB. Even the 6 GB variant will have 128 GB storage.
It will be available at lower prices as a launch offer at the price of 17999 and 19999 for 6 GB and 8 GB variants respectively. This will only be for a limited period of time when the sale starts.
Other features
Galaxy F42 will have the option to expand the storage up to 1 TB with a dedicated microSD slot.
The front camera will have an 8 MP camera with the back camera featuring multiple modes like night mode, depth and macro.
The sensors will include an accelerometer, ambient light, gyroscope, magnetometer, and proximity sensor. Connectivity includes 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
