Qualcomm has officially announced the latest addition to its mobile processor lineup, the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3. Fabricated on a 6nm process and featuring an integrated Adreno GPU, this new chipset brings enhanced performance and advanced capabilities, particularly for smartphones in the lower and mid-range segments.
Enhanced performance and AI capabilities
The Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 is designed on a 64-bit architecture and includes Kryo CPU cores with a peak clock speed of 2.3 GHz.
Qualcomm has integrated its AI Engine, which includes the Hexagon Vector Extensions, to deliver a highly responsive performance. This chipset aims to provide superior “performance, gaming, and intelligent assistance,” according to Qualcomm.

Key features of the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 include the Qualcomm Sensing Hub, which incorporates a Low Power AI System. This supports hardware-accelerated always-on voice assistants, multi-mic far-field detection, and echo cancellation, ensuring seamless interaction with AI-driven applications.
It features an Adreno 619 GPU that offers robust support for gaming at 120fps, enhancing the gaming experience on mobile devices. The chipset supports LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 2.2 storage, providing efficient memory management and fast data access.

Display and camera capabilities
The Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 supports full-HD+ displays with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, delivering smooth visuals. It is capable of handling up to 108-megapixel sensors, thanks to its triple 12-bit Spectra ISP setup.
This setup is designed for AI-enhanced low-light photography, ensuring high-quality images even in challenging lighting conditions. The chipset can also playback videos at a maximum resolution of 1080p at 60fps.

Connectivity and 5G support
Equipped with the Snapdragon X51 5G Modem-RF system, the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 supports both mmWave and Sub-6 5G networks, offering Global 5G Multi-SIM support. It promises peak download speeds of up to 2.5Gbps, enhancing connectivity and data transfer rates.
Additionally, the chip includes Qualcomm’s FastConnect 6200 technology and supports Bluetooth 5.2, ensuring robust and versatile wireless connectivity options.

The upcoming Moto G85, anticipated to launch globally soon, could be the first device to feature the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 chipset. A recent Geekbench listing reveals the Moto G85 with an octa-core processor and an Adreno GPU, which aligns with the specifications of the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3, including a 2.3 GHz clock speed and the integrated Adreno GPU.
