Surface Laptop Studio

The newest in the surface series is Surface Laptop Studio. It brings some exiting changes to the surface lineup. Microsoft says, Laptop Studio is designed with Windows 11 in mind and is their most powerful studio ever built.

Sure, looking at the design of the Laptop studio, it does look interesting. First thing to attract our eyes when looking at the design is the new Dynamic Woven Hinge. Which lets the display ease forward.

This type of Hinge is not new. In fact, a similar hinge design is utilized in the HP Spectre Folio. But this adds more versatility on top of an already versatile Surface. Making the Surface Laptop Studio more usable and organic in practical scenarios.

Overall, Surface Laptop Studio is a great addition to Surface series. This also signifies that Surface Book will not be retired, and Surface laptop Studio is taking its place with similar design but without somewhat complicated and error-prone detachable display.

Surface Pro 8

The Pro 8 is the updated version of much iconic and familiar Surface Pro. The new Surface Pro 8 has introduced some significant changes to the Pro line up.

First one being the performance, Surface Pro 8 more than twice as fast as Pro 7, with 11th Gen Intel® Core™ processors, two Thunderbolt 4 ports and built on the Intel® Evo™ platform.

The other major area of change is display. The screen size of the Surface Pro is increased to 13-inches across, compared to 12.3-inches on the previous models. The new display features a 267 PPI 2880×1920 resolution, and offers up to 120 Hz refresh, similar to the Surface Laptop Studio.

The Surface Pro 8 brings in the much-needed changes in many areas without losing the essence of things that make Surface Pro special.

Surface Pro X

In the Surface Pro X, Microsoft has not changed much. The only change introduced is the launch of a new Wi-Fi only model. It is priced at $900. Besides the Surface Pro X, will begin shipping with Windows 11 which has the ability to run both x86 and x64 type applications.

Surface Go 3

Surface Go series is the least expensive Surface device. It is the entry point for a general consumer for Surface devices. But, besides offering great value and portability. The Surface Go suffered from sluggish performance.

Thankfully, the new Surface Go 3 is 60% faster with an Intel Core i3 processor compared to the previous Surface Go 2.

The higher end Surface Go 3 uses Core i3-10100Y processor which gives faster performance compared to 8th Gen Intel® Core™ m3 Processor used in Go 2.

The base model of Surface Go 3 still comes with a Pentium dual-core, though the Pentium Gold 6500Y used here is a big step up in some ways since it can turbo to 3.4GHz, whereas the Go 2’s Pentium 4425Y lacked turbo altogether.

Other than that the base model still offers mediocre 4 GB RAM and 64 GB eMMC storage. The price remains the same at $400 for base model.

Surface Duo 2

Surface Duo is the Microsoft’s version of folding Mobile phone. The new Surface Duo 2 is an updated version with higher performance and usability.

Surface Duo 2 now has Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC. Along with higher performance, the Surface Duo 2 also has updated its camera with the inclusion of a triple-camera for wide, ultra-wide, and telephoto photos.

The display also gets updated in Duo 2. The new display size is 5.8-inch, compared to 5.6-inch in the previous model. The effective screen size is 8.3-inches when the device is opened.

Microsoft Surface Duo 2 now also supports 5G. Rest of the features includes 8 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and storage options are 128 GB, 256 GB, or 512 GB.

Surface Slim Pen 2

Microsoft has also updated its Slim Pen. The new Slim Pen 2 is sharper, responsive and writing, drawing feel more realistic than ever, according to Microsoft.

Thanks to a custom chip called Microsoft G6 and haptic functionality that aims to make writing and drawing feel more realistic. This brings to the question of where were G1- G5 used? Jokes aside. The haptic feedback seems really intriguing. The haptic feedback is somewhat lacking in Apple Pencil.

The Slim Pen also magnetically fit into the Surface Pro 8 and attaches magnetically to the side of Surface Laptop Studio.

Surface Slim Pen 2 is available for $129.99 and ready to pre-order today in select markets.

Microsoft Ocean Plastic Mouse

One of the most interesting accessory launched is Microsoft Ocean Plastic Mouse.

The mouse is made from 20% recycled ocean plastic and is just $25.
