Nokia has launched its tablet T20 with a huge battery and 2K display
Nokia's newest tablet T20 launched. Here's everything you need to know
The smartphone market is pretty much overtaken by Chinese brands and it has become difficult for Nokia to compete in this space. Now, Nokia is launching their first tablet and is being marketed as a budget tablet that’s durable.
Enter Nokia T20 from the HMD Global. More and more brands are entering the tablet market and HMD do not want to be left behind.
This tablet doesn’t have the 5G support and is available with Wifi+Cellular and only Wi-Fi versions. The tablet will be priced at 199 euros for only the Wi-Fi version and 239 euros for the Wi-Fi + Cellular version.
Nokia T20 is an affordable Android tablet with some interesting specifications. Powered by a Unisoc Tiger 610 with a clock speed of 1.8 GHz, there is nothing too interesting about the processor. It is a low-end processor which performs just below Mediatek Helio P60.
It is a processor chip base on 12nm chips which is quite “less impressive” since most of the phones and tablets use processors which are on at least 8nm chips.
Battery and Charging
One of the big selling points for this tablet is its battery life. Although a processor which is based on 12nm will not offer a good battery efficiency. Nokia claims that users can get up to 15 hours of battery on a single charge.
This is most probably because of its massive battery size of 8200mAh. It will come with a 10W charger and will be 15W compatible too.
Although it comes with a modest processor, it packs good display specs. With a screen size of 10.4 inches and 2K (1200×2000) resolution with 400 nits of brightness, the display looks quite promising.
Note that the aspect ratio of the display is 5:3.
RAM and storage
It comes with an internal storage of 64 GB and 4 GB of RAM. If you want extra storage, a microSD card can support up to 512 GB.
Since it’s a budget tablet, you cannot expect much in the camera performance. It has a 5MP front camera for video calls and an 8MP rear camera for taking pictures.
Software and Connectivity
The tablet will come with Android 11 and will have the security of 2-year Android updates and 3 years of security updates. It also features Google Kids Space.
Connectivity options include a USB-C port, Bluetooth v5.0 and a 3.5mm jack. Nokia also has released rugged accessories to keep your tablet safe.
Although this is the first tablet under the HMD global brand, this is not the first tablet under the Nokia brand. This tablet is clearly being marketed as a budget contender geared towards people working and studying from home.
