A new year is upon us and 2023 is completely stacked with some major game releases. While we look back at 2022 as an eventful gaming year, 2023 will bring some major heat.
Since it is January, big releases are rare and there aren’t a lot of games this month. If the games released are any indication of the upcoming game releases, we are looking at an awesome 2023. From the long-awaited Deadspace Remake to Forspoken, these are the most anticipated games of January 2023.
Season: A Letter to the Future
The passive open-world experience, in which there is no combat but simply positive vibes and lots of mysteries, seems to be one particular genre that has evolved throughout time.
The appeal of this genre of game is in the environment it presents and the secrets that may be solved inside; judging by the concept of Season: A Letter To The Future, this is bound to be one of the most intriguing adventure games out there.
You play as Estelle, a resident of a remote mountain town who is leaving her home for the first time in order to chronicle the people, places, and cultures of the larger world.
One season represents an entire era in her world, and because this season is about to expire, Estelle wants to document her planet for the future before a strange calamity destroys it all.
Season A Letter to the Future releases on 31 January 2023 for PS4, PS5 and PC.

One Piece Odyssey
As a One Piece fan, I couldn’t be more excited! This game celebrates the 25th anniversary of One Piece and the best thing is, Eiichiro Oda is involved here. Published by Bandai Namco, the visual is a mix of traditional JRGP and One Piece’s art style.
The crew must work together to come together while battling foes, the island’s natural forces, and its inhabitants after they become stuck on the strange island of Waford as a result of a storm.
In addition to the main plot, players can take part in side quests and conflicts to get to know the game and its characters better.
One Piece Odyssey releases on 12th January 2023 for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake
It was only a time before the next outing of SpongeBob after the massive success of Battle for Bikini Bottom (remakes) released in 2020. The next title from Purple Lamp and THQ Nordic appears to be the yellow mascot’s most absurd journey yet.
The universe’s fundamental fabric is evidently disintegrating at an alarming rate as a result of SpongeBob and Patrick being given the ability to grant wishes via a Mermaid Tear.
SpongeBob and a balloon version of Patrick must visit seven different Wishworlds, like Halloween Rock Bottom and the Wild West Jellyfish Fields, to collect various platforming abilities and outfits in order to save everyone. A silly goober does this all day long.
SpongeBob SquarePants The Cosmic Shake releases on January 31, 2023, for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
Dead Space (2023)
All eyes are now focused on Motive Studio’s development of the Dead Space revival because The Callisto Protocol has officially debuted and failed to live up to the high hopes many people had for it.
Motive Studio virtually has a home run on its hands with such an iconic and delightful framework to build upon, and it’s looking likely that they’ll deliver the goods when Dead Space hits. Given that EA doesn’t screw up like they have a habit, lately, this is going to be a delightful remake of the original Dead Space.
Engineer Isaac Clarke responds to a distress signal on the planet-cracking starship USG Ishimura in Dead Space, a retelling of the game’s original plot. The Ishimura recently found a Marker hidden beneath the planet’s surface, however, this finding turned out to be a curse since the majority of the crew has now changed into aggressive Necromorphs. Isaac is forced to face the horrors of the Ishimura alone while carrying some dangerous instruments.
Dead Space (2023) releases on 27 January 2023 for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series S|X and PC.

Forspoken
We have been following this game for a while now and it is releasing soon. It’s an “Isekai” but not in JRPG format. Frey, a young New Yorker who is taken to the stunning and unforgiving region of Athia, travels on in Forspoken. Frey must use her newly discovered magical talents to navigate vast landscapes and engage with horrific animals in order to find a path home.
The game heavily focuses on transversal abilities and the combat is mostly “magical”. It is developed by Luminous Studios and published by Square Enix.
Forspoken releases on January 24 on PC and PS5.
