Gaming laptop Redmi G 2021 from Xiaomi will come with Ryzen 7 5800H and RTX 3060
Redmi is releasing its second laptop under the gaming series and Xiaomi says that it will offer high-performance gaming.
Earlier, Redmi teased that its upcoming Redmi G 2021 laptop will come with a sweet combo of AMD Ryzen processor and Nvidia RTX graphics card.
With yet another update, it is confirmed that the new Redmi G 2021 will feature AMD Ryzen 7 5800H and RTX 3060 GPU which is a significant boost from the mid-range 1650 Ti used in the first Redmi G launched in August 2020.
AMD Ryzen 7 5800 H is a high-performance mobile processor which is in the top class of all mobile (laptop) processors. It is an 8-core processor with a base clock of 3.2 GHz and a boost clock up to 4.4 GHz, which makes it a perfect pair for the RTX 3060.
The company also revealed that the laptop powered by RTX 3060 will be able to reach the full power consumption of 130 W. Since it’s equipped with an RTX graphics card, it will support ray tracing which will bring you a more realistic visual effects.
The company also revealed that the laptop will have a bigger display at 16.1 inches with a 144 Hz refresh rate. While the older Redmi G also had the same display specs, it needs to be seen whether there will be any other upgrade in panel or peak brightness.
Considering the fact that an earlier iteration of the Redmi G laptop had 3 variants, they might have multiple variants for the 2021 series as well. A Redmi G 2021 pre-sales page showed another variant with an Intel processor.
The laptop is being marketed as a ‘high-end performance laptop and will be priced higher than previous versions which isn’t surprising. They are jumping from a GTX 1650 Ti to an RTX 3060 with a massive upgrade with the processor as well.
Redmi seems to be making it clear that they want to fiercely compete in the high-end gaming segment. We will see more as the release date inches closer, which is September 22.
