Apple’s newest event ‘Let Loose’ is all about iPad and Apple has unveiled some big changes to their iPad lineup. Apple has unveiled the iPad Air, iPad Pro, Apple Pencil Pro, and the new M4 chip.
Here is a highlight of the Apple ‘Let Loose’ event and all the major announcements.
Apple iPad Air
iPad Air has been redesigned with a better design and a more powerful M2 chip. iPad Air now comes in two sizes; 11-inch and 13-inch. If you need a much larger screen, you can now opt for a 13-inch iPad Air instead of going for Pro models.
Both the models are powered by the Apple M2 chip which makes it 50% faster than the previous generation Apple iPad Air. The focus was also on AI and ML performance, thanks to the more neural engine on the M2.
As for the storage, the base model comes with 128GB storage and has the option to choose from 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB.
It features an LED-backlit IPS display with a resolution of 2360×1640. The display has a peak brightness of 500 nits on the 11-inch model and 600 nits on the 13-inch model.
As for the camera, the new iPad Air has shifted the front camera from portrait to landscape edge. The front camera features a 12MP ultra-wide camera with 1080p HD video recording. The rear camera features a 12MP wide camera with up to 4K 60fps video recording.

Apple iPad Pro
Apple has made some significant changes in the new iPad Pro and the most striking aspect was the debut of M4 in the iPad Pro. A new M series chip always debuts with the new Apple Macbook but this time, it’s the iPad Pro.
There was a significant focus on its new ultra-thin design. The iPad Pro 11-inch is just 5.3mm thick and the 13-inch is even thinner at 5.1mm. The new iPad Pro will be powered by the newest Apple M4 chip skipping from the M2 in the previous generation iPad Pro.
As for the storage, the base model comes with 256GB storage and has the option to choose from 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB.
For the display, it features OLED with an adaptive refresh rate from 10Hz to 120Hz. It boasts a 1000 nits brightness and a peak brightness of 1600 nits in HDR.
As for the camera, the new iPad Air has shifted the front camera from portrait to landscape edge. The front camera features a 12MP ultra-wide camera with 1080p HD video recording. The rear camera features a 12MP wide camera with up to 4K 60fps video recording.

Pricing and Availability
iPad Pro is now available to order and it will be available next week. The price of Apple iPad Air starts at $999 for the 11-inch model and $1299 for the 13-inch model.
Apple launches M4 Chip
Apple announced the M4 chip, showcasing its significant performance improvements over the M2 found in the previous iPad Pro.
The M4 packs a punch with up to 10 CPU cores and 10 GPU cores. Additionally, it boasts hardware-accelerated ray tracing, AV1 support, ProRes capabilities, and improved energy efficiency compared to its predecessors.
The M4 boasts a powerful neural engine capable of 38 trillion operations per second (TOPS) for AI tasks. While this falls slightly behind Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Elite’s claimed 45 TOPS, it’s important to note that TOPS isn’t the sole indicator of neural engine performance.
Compared to the M2, the M4 delivers a 50% faster CPU, a staggering four times faster GPU, and benefits from the efficiency gains of TSMC’s 3nm technology. This translates to a significant leap in processing power across the board.
Since the iPad Pro will be available in a week, we will see how it compares to other chips.
Apple Pencil Pro
Apple also talked about Pencil Pro which elevates the experience of using a touch pen and adds quite a lot of improvements. Apple Pencil Pro will work with iPad Air as well so you have two options to choose from.
In a Nutshell…
Apple announced the new Apple iPad Air in 11-inch and 13-inch models. It also unveiled the iPad Pro, introducing the Apple M4 chip. iPad Pro will also be available in 11-inch and 13-inch display sizes.
Apple also talked about updates to its Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro software for content creation. Apple Pencil Pro gets new features and is supported on both iPad Air and iPad Pro.
