AMD’s upcoming Radeon RX 7700 XT graphics card has been confirmed to feature 12 GB of memory and a 192-bit wide GDDR6 memory interface. This information comes from a leaked regulatory filing by ASRock, which also revealed that the RX 7700 XT will be based on the same “Navi 32” silicon as the RX 7800 XT, but with some of the CUs disabled.
Specifically, the RX 7700 XT is expected to have 40 CUs enabled, compared to the 60 CUs in the RX 7800 XT. This will result in a significant performance difference between the two cards, with the RX 7800 XT likely being around 20% faster. However, the RX 7700 XT will also be significantly cheaper, making it a more attractive option for budget-minded gamers.
In addition to the memory and CU count, the leaked regulatory filing also revealed that the RX 7700 XT will have a 192-bit memory bus. This is narrower than the 256-bit memory bus on the RX 7800 XT, but it should still be sufficient for the 12 GB of memory. The filing also didn’t specify the memory speed, but it’s likely to be the same 18 Gbps as the RX 7800 XT.
