Google has finally named it’s latest version of Android. Android N or Android 7 is Named “Nougat”. Android Nougat has many great features. Yantragyan will tell the some of those great features of Android N.
Here are the features of Android Nougat
The Google assistant feature can be said as upgraded version of Google Now. Now, you can do more with your voice commands search a nearby restaurant or book a ticket for movie all by talking to your phone through Google.
This is one of the exciting feature, also it will also be available in all other android versions as old as jelly bean. Instant Apps lets you use certain apps without having to download that app. Sort of like preview the app without installing it. This is especially useful for digital payment transactions, where you can pay with Android Pay instead of whatever system the app would have made you use.
For quite a time now, Samsung and LG phone users have been enjoying this feature. But, at last using two apps at once will become standard on Android devices. Similar feature has been available in Apple iPad Air 2, iPad Mini 4 and iPad Pro after the new OS iOS 9.
Chech out this to see how it works
This now means, you will be able to watch a YouTube video while also browsing facebook on your browser, or perhaps check email while watching a movie through Google Play on.
Reply in a notification
This feature has been brought over from Android Wear watches, Google now lets you reply to text messages from the notification shade.
When you get a new message, a little alert will pop up over the screen and you can type in your reply right there only. And go back to what you were doing. iOS has had a similar feature for quite awhile, so it’s nice to see it come to Android finally.
Bundles of notifications
If your notification menu is a mess of alerts, this feature might help. Developers will be able to group together notifications from their app. You’ll see a bundle of notifications from each app in the menu, and you’ll just tap the bundle to expand it and see each individual alert. Now your notification panel will look more clean with Android nougat
Doze on the Go
Android 6.0 Marshmallow was the first to get Doze, a battery-saving setting that halts background computing and kicks in when your phone is not in use and sitting still. Doze on the Go does the same thing, except your phone can be in motion (like if it’s inside your pocket sitting idle). Google’s also working on Project Svelte, which aims to reduce the amount of memory Android needs. The goal is to bring the latest versions of Android to more devices, especially those with lower-end specs.
This is Similar to Apple’s Night Shift feature and also available through various apps in playstore. Night Mode aims to reduce eye strain from viewing a bright display at night. This setting tints the screen yellow, which keeps you less revved up in later hours than the usual blue tint. You can also adjust the brightness and tint of the sepia hue.
Revamped update system is also introduced, following Chrome OS. Software updates will be able to install in the background and run with only a reboot. This is possible because of the introduction of two system partitions, one for use and the other for updates.
Data Saver feature
A new “Data Saver” mode restricts background mobile data usage, and can trigger internal functions in apps that are designed to reduce bandwidth usage, such as capping the quality of streaming media among other examples. This is great addition to Android Nougat.
Graphic Performance improvement
Now, there is added platform support for Vulkan, the new low-level 3D rendering API to augment OpenGL ES but with higher graphics performance. Now your phone can play game with Android Nougat more easily.
New set of Emojis
A new set of human emoji was also included in this version of the preview, with support for skin tones.
