Acer has launched Acer Swift 7 laptop. The laptop is incredibly thin 9.98mm, making it the world thinnest laptop. The laptop was launched at IFA 2016 along with two more laptops, Acer Spin 7 and Acer Predator 21 X.
Swift 7 is has Windows 10 as it’s operating system. The hardware of Acer Swift 7 is powered by Intel’s brand new 7th-generation Core i5 processor. Laptop measures 9.98mm, making it the first laptop to be thinner than 1cm(0.39 inches).
The laptop beats HP’s Spectre which was thinnest laptop till now at 10.4 mm. Despite beating Apple’s MacBook Despite being the world’s thinnest laptop, the Swift 7 doesn’t sacrifice much in battery or ports etc.
Laptop has two USB-C 3.1 ports and a headphone jack. Also Acer promises a 9-hour backup thanks to Intel’s newly updated and more efficient 7th generation core processor.
The display of Acer Swift 7 a 13.3-inch Full HD IPS panel with nothing much groundbreaking. Also the screen is not accompanied by touch. The Acer Swift 7 lacks the touchscreen ability.
But that is not the selling point of the laptop. Acer has made enclosed Swift 7 in an aluminum unibody chassis, which is dark on the outside and gold on the interior. Use of aluminum has made laptop very light in weight as well. Acer Swift 7 Weighs just 1.1kg. Overall laptop feels rigid and solid.
Other specs of Acer Swift 7 include 8GB of RAM and 256GB of SSD storage with Intel 7the generation Core i5 processor. Laptop is passively cooled which means, the whole system is fanless.
The Acer Swift 7 will be up for buying in China in September for ¥6,999, after that in Europe and the United States in October, at prices of €1,299 and $999, respectively. There after acer swift might be launching in rest of the world including India. This pricing is fair keeping in mind the ulra-thin profile of the laptop.
